Loctite 135334 Purple 222MS Low Strength Thread Locker, 300 degrees F Maximum Temperature, 50 mL Bottle

This is a very hard to aquire product. Everyone and every place has red and blue. But the green (used on already assembled fasteners) and purple (low strength- for very small screws ie:glasses) are hard to find. Luckily Amazon made it possible. Works as I need, keeps small screws in place on electronics and works well on my glasses.

Great product with no lost bolts so far. As it says, this is low-strength but gets the job done. I use this on all the bolts on my motorcycle not located near the exhaust or too close to the engine. This is because it is not rated for high temperatures. It is easy to apply as all it takes is a drop or two to the threads of any bolt. Highly recommended.

Use this on most of the bolts on my bicycles as well as threaded bottom brackets. No need for the stronger “blue” threadlocker, the 222 has never let me down. And it’s easy to remove the bolts, no heat or other tricks required.

It arrived from India. Took forever to get here. Had only 3 months till it outdated. A waste of money

Purple behaves differently from Blue and Red. To wit, it goes off very quickly - as in less than 5 minutes - whereas with Blue and Red you have almost unlimited working time and immediately disassemblies/reassemblies are trivial because the stuff remains liquid. Not so with Purple.... it is solid by the time you get the parts unscrewed again. The upshot of this behavior is to make a second/third reassembly (as in the parts did not feel right when screwed together) quite time consuming because the hardened Purple has to be scraped out of the threads and also dug out of the bottom of a blind threaded receptacle. Does the added convenience of being easier to disassemble later outweigh the above-mentioned? Time will tell.... but I am not head-over-heels in love with Purple.
