Learning Resources Hot Dots Light-Up Interactive Pen, Single Pen, Interactive Learning, Compatible with Any Hot Dots Set, Ages 3+

The media could not be loaded. We have not used this pen for that long, but so far it has worked just fine (having been in use for a couple of days). It does make a sound which is sufficiently loud but not to the point of being annoying beyond measure. We only have phonics books for this pen to go with but I am pretty sure it will work with all the other books in Hot Dots series.It arrives in a box just big enough for it to fit in and it looks quite neutral, compared to our original pen with a dog figure (taking up half of the pen). So it will work for any age group. It looks more like a gadget due to this too.A great replacement pen.

Found this a bit frustrating as it doesn't always work unless it is perfectly vertical. It also takes 2 AA batteries which are not included. Other than this, easy enough to use just a bit annoying when it doesn't work.

A great accessory to the Hot Dots activity books. You can get s tarter set that comes with this pen and a couple of books or you can buy it separately. I got a second Hot Dots pen so the kids can play and learn with the activity books at the same time. Whilst one does one of them, the other can have their own pen and do their own activities.A very fair price for an additional pen. Would recommend.

Usually with learning resources products the box is marked up with the branding. This doesn’t have anything.The pen itself comes in a slim box. Requires the addition of batteries which need to be factored into your costing. The instructions claim this needs the book in order for it to work. I assumed this would come with it. I now have a pen which is useless to me. Unable to review its effectiveness and performance without it.

This is very easy to use and works well. It does however look very cheap. My daughter however loves this. Very good for learning new things and recapping what she already knows

This pen works with any HOT DOTS books. Requires 2xAAA not included. It doesn’t talk just makes sounds. Flushes red light for wrong answer or anywhere else you press and flushes green for the right answer. Easy to use but would’ve been nicer if this pen talked instead of making nose. I got the hot dots books which comes with 2 book and 1 pen and now my daughter and son can both use the book at the same time and no more fighting over it.

We normally love this brand but we were disappointed with this as it was hit and miss if it worked for us so maybe a bad connection or something.Shame.as u can see it would have been fun and very useful.

The Learning Resources range is brilliant for home learning, a lot of the packs come with an interactive pen but having a spare means more than one child can play at the same time. I use the word ‘play’ as this is a range that encourages learning through play. We’ve been using the workbooks which I’d absolutely recommend. The work books are needed to accompany these pens which light up giving feedback as you progress. The range is great for independent learning. The pen requires 2 AAA batteries (not included).
