I am a ceramicist and bought this kit to make my own lamp. I ordered the kit before finishing the lamp so I could carve out the correct sizes for the neck and cord in the clay base. The kit was so easy to put together into my lamp base once it was fired. I followed the directions the kit came with. You only need a screwdriver. Make sure to screw the wires tightly on the sides. Works really well!

I used this kit for a lamp I manufactured myself and it works perfectly. I prefer the toggle switch to the ones you have to turn so this was exactly what I was looking for. I do have some concerns about the possibility of someone electrocuting themselves if they don't put the kit together correctly as there is a thin piece of cardboard that is the only insulation between the wires and the metal body of the kit

I have used these kits for some DIY lamps made of automotive components. They worked well to adapt to my need, with quality hardware.

Pretty good hardware for such a low price. Installation was pretty simple.

My Grandpa took a piece of the Walnut tree in their backyard and turned the wood into a lamp. When I moved out on my own in the 70's he gave me his bedside lamp.Recently, it was having problems turning on or off. Fortunately, my Grandpa taught me quite a few things that at the time, girls didn't do such change the oil on his old Plymouth from the pit in his garage, or how to plumb, do minor electrical, etc. He felt that I would have the education to protect myself in the future from people trying to take advantage of me.Last year I rewired a French porcelain lamp that had been my Grandma's and this year I rewired Grandma's lamp.I laid everything out on my chest freezer that I had covered with dog pads. For right now it's my craft center for painting, decoupage, resin work, etc.The kit had everything I needed, it arrived with the package intact, and arrived on time. I chose the black instead of going with the gold that had originally been used. I like the use of black with the wood. More importantly, the lamp works great! I might move it to the desk my Dad built for me I stead of by the sofa.

This is only the wiring and shade mount I built the entire lamp from scrap metal in my shop and had to order the black shade separately.Beat spending 80 bucks on a sturdy bedside lamp I even ordered another set and built an identical one for my gfs side of the bed lol The instructions are very straight forward youtube the underwriters knot or look at how the bows tied on the instructions the knot is only to keep tension off the wires encase they get pulled and it makes it so they fold up nicely into the metal cap.
