Saw the movie with my wife, and fell in love with it. We both appreciate a great musical and try to get to live theater when we can. So loving the movie and playing piano, this was a natural purchase. I bought the print version that came in the mail. I would describe my piano skills as intermediate, and this book hits my experience level perfectly. There's a few songs you can sit down and immediately begin playing in a recognizable way. Other songs take some practice. But the arrangements are well done for most of this book. Many times I'll buy a book and find only 2-3 songs that are reasonable enjoyable on piano. Here the majority of songs are a lot of fun.

My husband and I just watched the movie again and I was delighted to find the piano arrangements in one book.

Every year I order the piano score from the movie that wins the academy award for best picture. So I immediately 1-click purchased this right after the award was announced... Only to find out that Warren Beatty screwed up the award this year and gave it to La La Land accidentally. So now I'm stuck with this loser score that I already ordered. It's a good thing the songs are well arranged for the novice pianist, follow the movie songs well, and are catchy enough that I enjoy playing them. I'll go ahead and give it 5 stars because it's great. But I'm not happy with Warren Beatty at all.

If you came here for it, the only question you may have is "how hard is it"? This is probably a late beginner - early intermediate book. These arrangements are definitely not for absolute beginners, but I bet a dedicated year or so in and this is within reach. It's right where I need to be, but I also could see how a more advanced player might find these arrangements simple. Fun fact, Ryan Gosling actually learned all the parts he plays in this book. He was a pure beginner, practiced 3-4 hours a day for about 4 months (every single day...) , so he was around the 350-400 hour mark for practice when he performed these on camera. This was all he practiced and he practiced every day. But that should give you at least some scope of where you may stand in relation.

This has everything I look for in a piano book: (1) Piano part includes the melody, so is suitable for solo playing, not merely for accompaniment. (2) Reasonable key signatures, without lots of shares and flats. (3) Some parts easy, some parts a challenging intermediate level that you need to spend time practicing. The music is fun to play: original catchy melodies with some jazz texture.

No, I am not a concert pianist, but you don't need to be to play many of the songs in this book. Yes, there are some that are harder than others, but as someone who isn't an expert at piano, I was able to play City of Stars pretty well. Like any piano book made up of movie songs expect lots of flats and sharps.

I have a piano student who LOVES Lala Land and so I bought this to teach her some of the music. She is an intermediate level of piano and did well with "Mia and Sebastien's Theme". This is a pretty good reduction of the music from the movie and would be fairly easy for anyone who has played piano for a while.

Great piano book! Got it as gift for my kids and they can’t stop playing the songs and learning some of the ones less popular music songs from the movie. Great quality book. I am a very happy costumer.

La La Land é um dos melhores musicais que assisti recentemente, e poder ter o songbook pra tocar as músicas é algo sensacional. Vale muito a pena! :)

シンプルで見やすい楽譜です。 ピアノ譜として購入しましたが、ギターコードも付いていて両方やる人は便利かも。 ミアとセバスチャンのテーマが弾きたくて購入したけどこれはかなり難しい。 演奏CDあったらベストですね。
