Arcadia Pure Sun Midi Lighting Kit - Lighting System for Small to Medium Parrots

We bought the midi lamp as I thought the smaller one would be too small. The midi one is a bit big for our cage but works well and our parrot has no problems with it. The fitting was relatively easy to put together. The only slight challenge is the fixing is in the middle of the bar and because of the weight of the wire the light tilts slightly. They send some stick on clips to hold the wire but we do not have anything to fix them too, but not a major problem. Works well and parrot soon got used to it.

Worked great for three years (with bulb changes each year, REMEMBER TO CHANGE YOUR BULBS YEARLY TO MAINTAIN UVB) before it eventually broke and it was cheaper to buy a different unit, held up well but the mount sucked

Okay, where do I start first of all the small bracket clips onto the light fitting and holds it to the bracket is too small to clip on and is a nightmare. I ended up having to open it with a hammer so it will clip round the actual light. The second issue I found was with the plate which is a square that goes inside the cage with a small screw attached, and you fit through the Perspex and place the bolt on the other side this would be fine if you had a long enough screw to go through, but it is too short. It would probably fit a birdcage but not a parrot cage with thick bars. I ended up making an another bracket with a longer screw and bolt. I went to fit the bulb to the bulb holder and if you push it up and you’re not careful it just drops out you have to turn it I turned it slightly, not wanting to break the bulb and when I turn the switch on it wouldn’t work. So I looked at the instructions that came in the booklet and it said for the bulb fitting, read the instructions in the box. Well there wasn’t any instructions in the box so I tried the bulb again and turned it a bit harder and it actually clicked into place. I was worried obviously I was going to break the bulb, so I didn’t turn it enough the first time . To be honest the company should be ashamed of themselves as it is poorly made. However, once I adapted it for my cage and made a new bracket, the light was really good and my parrot likes sitting underneath it. When purchasing it, you will find it doesn’t fit all parrot cages, the Perspex bracket is just an L shape and it is not very long so you need to fit it at the top of the cage so if the top of the cage is not square it won’t fit it. Also your perch can’t be right near the top of the cage because the bracket isn’t very high. I would’ve sent it back but whatever light I got I would’ve probably had to adapt it to the cage however, instead of giving a plate with a tiny screw attached it would be better if they put a much longer one on and a slightly bigger bolt instead of Fiddley small one A butterfly bolt would’ve been better. The instructions were so tiny you couldn’t identify the bits I was not impressed I’m afraid. The natural light works well though

Didn't fit my cage

3 stars because allegedly it does the job, but my god, how could they get the design so wrong for such a simple item? First it's much more awkward to install than the appearances may have suggest Then it's really not designed for cages with opening top. Last but not least the switch at the end of the cord is a curse for your back. Really it's comical for how wrong it is 😂

Works as described. Nice white light and my birbs like them in the winter months.

Die Lampe ist super. Sie leuchtet die komplette Voliere aus. Anfangs hat sie bei der Montage einen Wackler, der sich dann aber ,wenn sie ihren Platz gefunden hat, beruhigt. Das ist Licht ist flackerfrei.

die Verpackung und die Lampe hatten Gebrauchsspuren und im Betrieb sieht man in der Slomo-Einstellung beim Iphone deutliches Flickern wie bei normalen Lampen ohne Vorschaltgerät. Meine Philips Hue, die ich nutze, flimmern nicht. Wieso bitte wird der Artikel als flimmerfrei beworben? Den Hersteller und den Versender habe ich informiert und warte auf Antworten. Meine Wellis werden dieses Diskolicht jedenfalls nicht vorgesetzt bekommen. @Micha: Deinen Kanarienvögeln gefällt das Licht nicht, weil Vögel anders sehen als wir. Bei uns laufen 24 Bilder pro Sekunde- wie bei Filmen z.B. üblich - nicht mehr als Diashow sondern flüssig. Unsere Vögel aber sind Fluchttiere und sehen bis 250 Bilder pro Sekunde um in der Natur Feinde besetzt zu erkennen. Deine Vögel mögen kein Flackern und setzen sich deswegen nicht unter die Lampe. PS: diese Infos sind im Netz leicht zu finden. Gruss. Olaf Edit: Hersteller und Versender haben bis heute nicht auf meine Anfrage reagiert bzw. geantwortet. Warum auch. Kaufen ja genug Leute diese Produkte. Schade.

Montage am 25.11.2023 Mir gefällt es - meinem Kanarien noch nicht (14.12.) - Sie setzt sich noch nicht unter die Lampe. Extrem Leichte Lampe👍 Schöne Halterung, sehr leichte Installation Anschaffungs-Preis sehr Hoch - dafür geringere Stromkosten pro Jahr.
