I have two generators, one small (4kw) and one large (8kw), both from the same manufacture. They have different 220v outlet configurations. The difference was the "locking" tab. On one generator it was up and on the second generator it was down. This adapter allowed me to use the same cord on both units. I don't use both at the same time so why buy another expensive cord, so this adapter worked great.

This converter solves the problem for one of my generator plugs.

The adapter worked perfect. I was able to take my extension cord with a 20 amp plug on it and plug the cord into the adapter which then gave me a 30 amp plug to plug into the 30 amp receptacle on my generator. The adapter worked so well that I am going to order another adapter for another generator that I have.
