Saved $$$
Had a leak from the cap on one of my Yamaha trim tabs, told I needed to rebuild entire system by several repairmen for $400-$600. Further investigation revealed I could replace seals in cap, only 1 leaking, but 2nd would start leaking if both weren’t addressed Seals cost as much as 2 aftermarket caps, so went with caps. But this tool was needed to remove caps. $70 for caps, $30 for tool that worked great. 2 different sizes, larger one for tilt, smaller one for trim.

Bad Product
I should have known better. You get what you pay for. This item was complete garbage and ruined my work day. The pins sheared as soon as I put some force on the wrench. The pins are obviously not hardened steel like they should be. BEWARE. Don't buy this if you are expecting it to work. I would have given it zero stars if possible.

Pins broke and threads stripped!
Had high hopes for this project. Lifelong boat owner and diy’er here, but first time trying to remove trim caps. Motor is a 2010 yamaha 115. So, not like these caps were ancient caps that were seized or anything. Broke pin after pin that came with the wrench. Borrowed some pins from a buddy who had similar tool but different size and was able to swap his pins into my wrench. Was then able to get caps turning. But in the end i noticed the wrench “pin holes” in my wrench were somewhat stripped and bent. Returning product…

Pins break with ease
Cheap junk! All six pins broke in the matter of 5 min. Please do yourself a favor and get a quality tool that is stainless steal. You will definitely save yourself a lot of frustration.
