Vampires Don't Wear Polka Dots: A Graphix Chapters

Didn’t even realize this is a graphic novel but bought it bc my kid had mentioned the title. She told me the others she has read from this series were regular text (not graphic novels). Anyway, she absolutely loved it! She was able to read the whole thing in a day or two (avid reader in 2nd grade who reads at a 6th grade reading level, just for context, this kid would read 24/7). She has already read it a number of times. The pictures and pages are bright and inviting. Definitely recommend!

He’s read it multiple times at home and in school already

When I was in third back in ‘96, my teacher would read a chapter a day of the Bailey School Kids books. It was the favorite part of my day. Now that I’m teaching 3rd grade so many years later, I wanted to do the same. My students loved the book! They requested me to read each day. I loved the new look of the book. It’s sort of like a graphic novel. But since I read the books before I noticed that a lot was cut from the chapter book to make it a cute little graphic novel. So much dialogue and extra details are missing. Now I’m not sure if my students will like the classic books or if I should stick to the short graphix editions.
