Is this 100% real ground Wasabia japonica ?

I am having trouble believing this is authentic wasabia japonica. It’s a particularly challenging crop to grow with a long period for maturity and requires very specific growing conditions, which is why outside of specific places in Japan one of the few places I know of where you can grow it is the PNW. True Wasabi (not Horseradish - Armoracia rusticana) is also quite mild and with a very delicate flavor and is not aggressive. The litmus test is if you mix this with water, let it stand for five minutes and it burns your eyes it’s not true Wasabi. This is an important distinction - because dehydrated products are often about 10x the cost of fresh counterparts because they lose about 90% of their weight in water. Considering fresh Wasabi - in areas where it is grown will fetch on the order of 50$USD/lb - you do the math on this product. True Wasabi is also a pallid green. It’s likely this also contains green food coloring is my guess, even though it doesn’t list that. Buyer Beware.

There is nothing on the package to identify the Grown In or Country made on this product. I had to throw it away because it is NOW not returnable.

Is this product Vegan friendly?

According to package or is 100% wasabia japonica. That is vegan friendly. So this should be acceptable

Is this the kind you cover it to make it hotter?

I am Chinese-American and love wasabi. I always cover it after I make it from the powder. It is a mild wasabi but perks up my marinated-baked bean curd. Best of luck
