How wide of a chair will this fit?

We use it on a 28" wide chair. Just measured and you can comfortably open it up to fit a 36" wide opening, maybe an inch or two more if you want to really needed to. Been using the chair and couch protectors for 2 to 3 years and they are showing signs of wear (from when the kids rip them off the couch) but they should last for many more years. Very happy with them and would recommend or buy again with no hesitation.

What size couch will this fit? The dimensions say 19x1x23, is that full extended?

This item fits a normal size chiar. It will not fit a loveseat or couch. However - this item has worked perfectly. I have two couch defenders and a chair defender. Nothing else worked and this works!
