Better than most furniture of this type.
I recently set up a new art studio, and so I purchased and put together a great deal of furniture from Amazon. This is by far my favorite piece. It arrived in great shape, although the box was very heavy, which told me the pieces were of a sturdier build than some of the other particle board furniture I ordered. I'm actually quite impressed with the design of this piece. Out of the box, there was one piece with some minor scratching, but it was on the inside where no one will see it. The instructions were the best out of all the furniture I ordered, with written step-by-steps in clear language, plus illustrations. The drawers were obviously meant to take some weight and last a long time, with thicker drawer bottoms than this type of furniture normally has, and braces across the bottom of every drawer, plus a braced leg in the center of the body. Even the backing that is hammered on is nicer than most furniture of this type. The knobs and pulls are cheap fake-metal plastic, but they look much nicer than the knobs and pulls on other such furniture. The drawers all have very easy adjustments so you can quickly alter how the fronts fit to ensure that they're smooth and even. The only way that this dresser could lean or have uneven drawer fronts is if a person did not tighten the cams or adjust the fronts. The false fronts on the top drawers give the impression of having 4 small drawers, but ti's still just 2 drawers on top...they're slightly shorter than the other drawers. This false front is just a decorative element, and it does look very nice. Overall, I'm very happy with this piece, and would definitely order it again if I had need and space for another. I think it will outlast the desk and shelves and cabinets that were ordered with it.

Sturdy Dresser, Follow Directions (Adult or Kids sized)
This dresser was ordered to transition my 1 yo out of her nursey into her childhood room as we are welcoming another baby whose moving into the nursey. One of my top concerns was I didn't want "a short, small" dresser you typically see with kids furniture. This dresser is a great height, sturdy, wide and a good length. It will transition well from a "kids" room to a "teens" room as she grows up.Assembly:I am a 31 y o 8 month pregnant women. My previous assembly skills is limited to a recent $35 Bookshelf from Target.. AKA, I have none. By the directions are clear as day, clear images, extra hints AND they're comical.Total assembly probably did take close to 4 hours, simply because I'm an idiot and messed up the first part of building the drawers and so 4/6 my drawers I had to re-do. (My fault). Done properly the dresser is great. Some people said their drawers were dipping.. they didn't read the instructions clearly, were lazy and didn't fix mistakes, or simply didn't TIGHTEN everything.PRO - TIP. When building the drawers, if you have the space follow the steps from start to finish for ONE drawer and just do one drawer start to finish at a time... redoing the shelfs to be correct 1 at a time literally took 1/5 the time because it was just boom boom boom, tighten, done. I think if I did that the first time I would have cut off an hour of assembly time.Speaking of space, you do need a lot, that's the downside.. takes up a lot of space and if you don't have space you need to be EXTRA careful not to bang boards into each other, I did scuff a piece or two.EVERYTHING is labeled clearly so just be mindful of what you are doing and you should have no problem putting this together. It is a heavy, and sturdy piece of furniture (yes a a changing pad will fit on top). For the price, if assembled correctly, you're getting a steal.

This dresser takes TIME!
So pros and cons about this dresser:It’s a pretty decent dresser once put together. (See pictures)I love the drawer space and the size of the dresser.I wanted a solid black dresser but this dark brown color is pretty cute and close enough.ConsThe leg came broken I called the phone number and they ordered me a part without any complications (Pro). Only issue is that the part came a week later (shipped via USPS) so my dresser was not put together right away. Some other pieces (front of the dressers) had chips in them, however, I did not want to wait for those parts to ship. Some parts did not come labeled correctly (See attached pictures) so I had to guess and which part went with what.In the direction booklet it gives you a link to the video and a QR code. I am unaware of how to use the QR scanner, however, I went to the link and there was no how to video presented on the website.Things to know:I read the previous reviews and this dresser was NOT easy for me to put together by myself. At some point the parts were backwards and the dresser was on the wrong side (in the front instead of the back) Which for me took multiple turns to get it right. Very frustrating. The drill works WONDERS just make sure to not overpower the screws.Do:Invest in a drill. If you do not have one already understand why they label “do not use a drill” in their instructions however there is NO WAY I would have been able to screw the screws in by myself. This dresser will take TIME. Especially if you have no help.I pieced pieces with pieces before beginning (I placed all the parts per drawer in six separate piles away from the dresser)Other:I saw these knobs on a different review and decided to order them as well (GoodtoU Dresser Crystal Knobs). They are not as tight as I would like them but still cute and add a personal touch.

DETAILS W/ PHOTOS - WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE PURCHASING! :)
UPDATE 01-16 -22 - The odor and smell never left his unit. I let is air out in another room for two solid weeks and the smell would not go away. Windows open, cleaned with vinegar solution inside and out twice -- nothing - smells horrible - so bad it makes you cough and sneeze. On top of that attempted to move this dresser tonight to another room and it virtually "fell apart" this is with taking the drawers out in advance and being extremely careful - it completely fell apart - by the end it was in complete pieces except the drawers and it is now leaning up against a wall ready to be taken to the the dump. A complete and total waste of TIME and MONEY -- bummer!! $254.00 down the drain for nothing! Please note - on this review I attempted to stay upbeat, positive and gave this product every possible benefit of the doubt - to no avail. I am also not a "complainer" -- I have purchased tens' of thousands of dollars in merchandise from Amazon through the years --- literally --- as I am a buyer for companies as well as my personal shopping and gifts - I have only left a MAYBE a handful of negative reviews in all those years. This is hands down the absolute worst product I have ever purchased - do not buy this you will be sorely disappointed and although some reviewers had "good" experiences -- mine was a horrible one and would never recommend. See initial review below --Details you need to know before purchasing! First, the package itself weighs 170 pounds when delivered - so - if you don't have someone to help you will need to find someone! Second, when they say "assembly required" this dresser takes assembly to a whole different level! Assembly required on this dresser means there is not one single piece of this dresser, not even a simple screw that is assembled! You will quite literally be "building" this dresser from scratch and the process for "one" could easily take 4 hours or more. The process for "two" may be a 2 to 3 hour job. You will need a hammer and a Philips screwdriver and I highly recommend an electric or battery operated drill for your screwdriver - or - you will be into a fifth or sixth hour of putting this dresser together! You will need a large space to work in as there are many, many pieces! ( see photos ). You will need a great deal of patience, you'll need to focus and you will need to read the instructions at minimum in some sections 2 to 3 times and you definitely should use the photos and diagrams to help! It's likely you will need to do at least one section "over again" even with the great instructions - which section - the drawers! The instructions while well written are difficult to decipher when installing the tracks for the drawers and you like myself and others may find yourself "redoing" them. All in place and finally assembled - I am still "tweaking" those dog-gone drawers ( see photos ). The sturdiness of this dresser is "decent" but, again that all depends on how meticulous you were with assembly and following instructions. The absolutely WORST part of this dresser other than the mind-numbing assembly is that while "shipped" from an American company this product is indeed made in China and with that comes a nasty chemical odor -- there is only a slight smell when you open the box initially - but, after fully unboxed I had to open all the windows in the room before working to get the smell to dissipate! After assembly I had to move this very heavy dresser to another room because the smell permeated the bedroom it was in. I opened the windows all night in the room the dresser is now located in and still in the a.m. the smell was there. I recently wiped the entire dresser down with a warm water / vinegar mixture to get the smell to go away - but - it remains to be seen if that works or not? If you read a review that says there is "no odor" - I am sorry - but, that is not correct - there is indeed a chemical smell and this dresser is "not" made in America. This dresser is also "not" real wood it is particle board - MDF ( i.e. an engineered wood product ). The outer white layer of this dresser is simply a pasted on veneer covering and the handles are a satin style silver. The height, depth and width of this dresser are not "child" sized - this dresser could easily be placed in an adult or teenage bedroom - this is a standard size dresser ( see photos ) and the measurements on the advertisement are correct. The storage capacity of the drawers - top two drawers are "sock and underwear" style drawers and the bottom four drawers are deep and spacious for jeans, t-shirts, sweatshirts etc. So, would I recommend this dresser? That depends - if it's all you can afford because you are on a budget and you can deal with all the many "issues" listed in this review - go for it - but, I personally paid $254.00 for this unit including tax and shipping a few days before Christmas 2021. I noticed recently the price has increased to nearly $350 ( at the time of this review ) and I personally would "not" pay that price. I wish all these details would have been in someone's review prior to me purchasing - and I hope this helps someone else - if it does - give it a thumbs up!

Sauder Shoal Creek Dresser
I'm impressed with the sturdiness of this dresser. If you follow the directions you will have no problems , assembly does take awhile end result well worth the time. My cat had to inspect all pieces.. I would definitely buy again , no complaints.

Exactly what I wanted BUT so heavy and falls apart quickly.
I loved this dresser in so many ways. It is beautiful, just the right size with nice deep drawers, well made drawer pulls, and feet that give it enough clearance to both balance out the look as well as vacuum underneath. I didn’t even mind how long it took to put together. But it is too heavy for the hardware that holds it together! It started to fall apart the second or third time it was moved. The top started to lift up. The laminate came off. The back warped and pulled off. The inside is particle so the bottom supports and sides started to crumble at the fastener locations. Having said that, I haven’t found anything at this price point that fits my needs and is not the same level of trashy construction, so I’ve had it for ten years. It’s now supported by books (because it bows in the middle - the middle foot came off almost immediately and the whole thing sagged so bad all the drawers were too crooked to open), has had half a dozen fix attempts with new nails etc, and all bedroom furniture reorganizing has to be CAREFULLY considered around whether or not the dresser needs to be moved again. If you get it - get sliders for the legs, immediately reinforce ALL the corners with brackets or something, and just be aware that it is HEAVY and probably should not be moved much.

Good quality for the price!
The low price was the main selling point for me because I needed a dresser and was not going to spend upwards of $500+ for a decent sized one.I was a bit hesitant to purchase this after reading the numerous reviews stating how incredibly difficult the dresser would be to assemble. I purchased it anyway because it looked sturdy and I figured I could get the job done. When the package arrived it was HEAVY. It was somewhat difficult for my boyfriend and I to carry from the garage into the house, but after that we opened the box and just took parts at a time upstairs to the room it would be staying in.All you need is a Phillips screwdriver and a hammer. If you have a power drill and know how to use it gently then go for it - but you’ll do fine without one. The instructions are clear and the parts are all labeled. The hardware is also clearly labeled in separate bag compartments. Will it take a few hours of your time? Yes. Do you need the ability to read and follow instructions? Yes. Will it be a torturous task, leaving you reconsidering your life decisions? No! Just bring a screwdriver, your brain, a dash of patience and a helper if you have one and you’ll be just fine. If you have to go it alone, you can still do it, I believe in you!The drawers may need some adjusting to get them all lined up right, but it’s easily done by turning the nifty adjustment screws (my boyfriend made it looked easy enough anyways- albeit he’s quite handy). At the end of it all, I now have a beautiful, sturdy, decently sized dresser that didn’t break the bank. The drawers glide smoothly and are spacious enough to hold the hoards of sweaters that I own. We also have our 47” tv on top with room to spare! Overall, very satisfied with this purchase.

Super sturdy, beautiful, easy to assemble, perfect fitting, OK instructions.
I was so happy to open and assemble this dresser,All the pieces are fitting perfectly and the assembly was an easy task.I did not have to follow the instructions by letter since the pieces and the hardware were so intuitive getting together.I saw many negative reports for the assembly.Yes, it is true, if you never had done this job before, and you do not have a mechanical incline mind. The most amazing for me was the drawers assembly.I never seen this kind of design which making so much sense as soon as you finish the drawers. It minimizes the screws and it is very sturdy at the same time.It took me about 3 hours because I was enjoying the process. For $250 it is a real bargain for quality, functionality, and beauty.I am buying another one to locate both of the units inside the walking closet for my wife's 1000''s clothings.Do not buy it if you have never done any mechanical, or construction, or assembly job before. You would be very frustrated since some of the drawing may not make sense to you, and some other steps which are not explained how to do it, while it is very obvious to the expert eye.
