I'll start by saying that I have been using cascade for over 15 years. I must have tried over 12 other brands to try to either save money or use a less chemical brand. None had worked nearly as well and some not at all. About 2 years ago I became really sensative to smells and I started making my body wash, shampoo, hand soap, laundry and all my cleaning supplies fragrance free. And let me tell u it has not been easy. I can smell even the slightest smells that other people can't. Needless to say I have found a brand for all of the aforementioned products but it took a long time. The last product I need was a dishwasher detergent. I tried only one other brand because they are hardly ever in the supermarket. That brand was awful. So what I started doing is putting my powerful whirlpool air purifier on in front of the dishwasher when I ran it. Needless to say it really didn't work well and it was making me dread running the dishwasher. So I went on amazon and did a search and I found a few brands. This one and another one were tied in the rating. So I literally just picked this one to try first. I am so glad that I did! I tried it twice already and it cleaned my dishes as good as cascade and without the stink! No more air purifier needed. I used to have to rise all my dishes to get the stink off not to mention all the chemicals. And I love the little drop in instead of the gel and powder. Plus it looks like it hardly uses any chemical most enzymes to breakdown the food. Amazing! I love it, it's perfect! I don't need to try any other brands. Even with my super smell I can only smell the slightest bit of soap if I open the dishwasher right after. But if I let it sit for an hour or 10 hours, I almost couldn't tell if I even ran the dishwasher because there is no smell lol. I only could tell because all the dishes and cutlery were very clean. This is really a perfect product, so I had to write a review.

If the pods are broken, just use one heaping spoon of the powder. In my case, no pods were broken when I bought the 132 loads. BUT, upon leaving them up to 1 year without using half the box because of no much of of dishwasher, etc, or other various reasons, i.e. going away on travel etc, then the remaining pods apparently became hardened. So, they were more-or-less unuseable since they would not dissolve any more in the dishwasher, so i would find the dishwasher just doing the dishes with water only in the end. I thought to use a hammer to break the pods into powder and use the poweder instead, but after over a year of owning the 130 loads, i just threw away the remaining pods. So, I will probably not buy so many pods again if I' m not going to use them quickly. Probably the 60, or 2 of 25 pods may be better so thee are used up and then repurchased new again. I would just make sure to close the lid of the container so that no air gets in so they pods remain fresh. In terms of quality they worked well, cleaned the dishes and had apparently no problem. Some odor of the powder is usually present but all detergents may have similar odor and does not constitude a problem. They left no residue as of I noticed. I will continue to buy again.

We have been trying different brands of "earth friendly" auto dish-washing detergents and have been greatly disappointed in them (for various reasons). Food deposits left behind after a wash were the biggest complaint. We had to thoroughly rinse off dishes before placing them into the dish washer - essentially washing the dishes before washing the dishes. Continuing the search for a good product, we gave this one a try. We are *very* pleased with this one. The detergent pouches quickly dissolve once they get wet - I had one fall apart in my wet hands - so release of the dish-washing powder is not an issue. Rather than put one into the automatic dispenser, I just place one of the utensil holders so that it releases as soon as the machine starts its first wash cycle. Unlike other brands, we have not seen any streaking on our glassware, and are no longer having issues with food deposits being left on the dishes. We have now stopped doing a "pre-wash" in the sink. We do only a quick rinse to get rid of the large bits, but otherwise the dishes go in as is after use. No issues noted with deposits. We continue to use this product as we are quite happy with it.

I buy this Fragrance Free but others report their fragrance versions help them detect it leaves films on dishes I add enough white vinegar to dishwasher cavity to prevent on dishes on dishwasher buildup/odor/stain too. I also add Oxy Dishwasher Booster liquid to the jet dry cup plus a squirt into dishwasher cavity as recommended though when I run out of Oxy I will try with just the vinegar alone & report back to you here. Both 7th Gen & Walmart Value "Green" brands leave worse film plus bits of food; & I can't use Oxy Dishwasher or other toxic chemical dishwasher soaps I've tried but they fill home air with sickening fumes & harm our community water. Next I'll try Ecover dishwasher soap; but thus far Grab Green Fragrance Free performs best of the naturals I've tried & read other reviews. Each time I order I compare its prices v. sizes since the value changes (24 loads was cheapest; now 60 loads cheapest; etc).

I have a newer, fully featured Kenmore dishwasher. it should do a respectable job of cleaning dishes. The first detergent I used in it was Seventh Generation. It smelled fabulous, but that was the only positive thing I can say. I had to wash the dishes before I put them in the dishwasher. I switched to BioKleen and was really pleased with it. It also smelled great, was perhaps more friendly to the fishes in the sea, and got our dishes clean. Unfortunately, it also left residue on our dishes and the inside of the dishwasher. I saw the reviews for this product while looking for something else and decided to give it a try. I purchased the unscented variety after reading about the dishes tasting like the fragrance and I am totally impressed. Not only does this stuff clean five ways from Sunday, the dishwasher itself looks sparkling clean after a wash. I had gotten so used to a dingy washer interior that I didn't think a clean one was feasible. There is no detectible residue on our dishes. Totally marvelous stuff, and so easy to keep on hand with the subscription!
