I'm interested in using this with a raspberry pi. Will there be any need to manually configure drivers? (Running raspbian)

Does this work plugged into a usb ext cord which is plugged into the pc? Any special usb ext cord needed?

Yes, it has worked that way for me. I should note, that I only use 2 devices on my USB extension, a mouse, and the microphone
