Salty Licorice?! The Diary of an Uneducated American
As an uneducated American, I had always read about salty Nordic licorice. I had always asked myself, how can licorice be salty?! I finally stepped up and had the courage to try this. The first bites were quite an event, leading to me being heavily confused and my wife being absolutely repulsed. However, the sweetness that came after the saltiness was very pleasant and the combo ended up scratching my brain in a very pleasurable way. I put down the bag and walked away for a while, but my mind kept telling me to go back and eat some more. After a while, the salty sweetness because an addiction. It starts off with an almost astringent saltiness, but then evolves into a savory licorice sweetness that is very, very pleasant. It has a nice chew to it without being too hard. I believe this is a tasty and quality candy that slowly grows on you if you have an open mind.

Interesting Taste
The texture on these are great. I only recommend eating a few at a time because the ammonia taste really catches up to you. To me, it tastes a bit like Century Egg with star anise flavoring (but sweet). It is incredibly strange but addictive at the same time.

SWEET, SALTY, AND FABULOUS
I thoroughly enjoyed these, and I will order them again. The flavor is what I was hoping to find. I would have enjoyed just a bit more salt, but the lack of it does not diminish the flavor and texture of these. While I usually will only have one at a time, I will confess -- sometimes it just has to be three !! As an aside, while I didn't purchase these for this reason, it just so happened that I had a bit of a "tickle cough" going on at the time. Just sucking on one of these calmed the tickle, so that was an added benefit !!

Delicious and tater just like the real häxvrål licorice

it is real licorice flavor, but salty
after a trip to Iceland, I fell in love with real licorice flavored candy. Especially mixed with chocolate. Really can’t find anything comparable in the United States so I tried these. I think they’re fine, but it is a bit salty, which throws off the flavor for me. But if it’s exactly what you’re looking for, salt, chocolate, and real licorice then it may be your cup of tea. Just keep in mind it is real licorice flavor so it is very distinct.

Loved it! Very interesting taste. Heard about this candy in a book, bought this to try it. A bit pricey but very tasty.
