Im brand new to coloured pencils in 2025 even though i think i got this set back in 2023 at least. Both photos are exclusively pencils from this set. The only thing that isn't from the set are the Tigers whiskers and the black background is ink... but the tiger is all from this set and no solvents. Ive never used another brand before and i did not use these with water. I got them originally for some textile gig i was working on (and they did their job well on fabric with aloe and gac 900 too) and then eventually thought i should try my hand at using them sort of as intended on paper (its probably strathmore 300 and 400 vellum or some such beast)... which brings us to now. They did great. The more i learn about how to manipulate the medium the better they get. Colour variety is pretty good and i can make up whatever else i need by mixing and layering. The only thing that might bother me with this is they are not indicated as lightfast so I really can't use them for professional work or things that I need to guarantee for long term. They are great for practicing and playing around with ideas (the red pepper) and feeling zero remorse for using up my supplies. I will use these with my professional colored pencils when I need a certain color and I'm only going to be using a tiny bit of it or enhancing another color with it. The only other issue i might have is that i can't buy singles. I chewed through the black straight away and a few others and now id have to buy a whole new set. Oh and they sharpen fantastic and don't break hardly at all. I use a Kum 2 stage sharpener and a Derwent crank dealy. They stay pretty sharp for a good long time. Yeah altogether pleased with the value for the price. Yall need to get into selling singles. Id be all over that.
