Honest, beautifully written and insightful
I read this book in a very short time as I kept having to squirrel myself away for just one more chapter. I loved the honesty of the complex relationship Tom had with Bourdain and was moved by his love for him as well as his anxieties. I watched all things Bourdain over lockdown and I loved reading about the crazy stories behind the scenes that made those incredible shows. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in Bourdain and his shows. This was a warts and all account and I appreciate knowing more about those shows as they were so brilliant.

Worst printing of a book ever!
The book is fine. But the printing is the worst I've ever seen. At least 20 pages are blank or unreadable. I'd like my money back!!I wanted to submit Zero stars but this review won't let me...

Love love loved it! Anthony Boursin so well.
It was a pleasure to read and also cathartic to mourn the loss of Anthony Bourdain with a man that knew him so well.

The Whole Picture
This book does what I think has been so hard to do when talking about Anthony Bourdain, which is that it gives the whole picture. The good, the bad, the complicated, the insanity, the willfulness, the paranoia, the love of life, the fear of the unknown. Full disclosure: I worked on Anthony's shows for many years, just as the author, Tom Vitale, did. This book does a better job of capturing the complicated, brilliant mess that was Tony and the projects he invited us along to make than anything I've seen or read. It is a joyous celebration and a much needed eulogy of a person none of us are ready to let go of, even now. "In The Weeds" is an insider's look, but it is so much more than a travelogue. It is a love letter, and a letter of thanks to our cult leader, Tony Bourdain.

Honest memoir and most complete portrait of Anthony yet
I read this in one sitting. I was blown away by Tom's writing and his honesty. I didn’t expect it to be so moving, insightful, and at the same time absolutely hilarious. As a fan of Anthony and his shows, since his passing, I've seen the recent film and read the oral biography which are both great but this, in my opinion, is the most complete picture of Anthony that we now have. If you miss traveling with Anthony around the world then this book is one for your collection.
