It is just a sata device but the price was right and seems like good hardwsare.
Good little device that works well. The price is right. Make sure you want a SATA device and not a NVME.This Is SATA. Not NVME. This means it is far slower than a NVME.

Great boot drive
I use these in my Dell 8700. It boots in 15-20 seconds. I have everything else on SSD drives. I also have one ready for a back up just because it is a computer, lol. The price is right and easy to install, even comes with screws. What not to like?

So far, so good
I used this to replace the storage on my iPod Classic and it’s working great! My only issue is the “true” storage is a whole 4GB less than the 64 advertised. I know this is the case with storage all the time but I wasn’t expecting it to be so much. 4 stars for working great so far

Very Satisfied So Far
Good capacity at 2 terabytes, and a good price. Getting the case open on my laptop was the most difficult part. Once open, it was a simple install and a YouTube video helped with the installation. I can't speak to the durability of the drive yet, but so far am entirely satisfied.

Big & fast, but not long lasting
I installed this into my Lenovo Thinkpad workstation class laptop, installed Ubuntu Budgie Linux with encrypted ZFS and started to put data on it. The laptop hung 1-2 times and I rebooted, but hoped that it was not a sign... I should have listened to my gut.2 days after installation, the laptop hung and I rebooted again. It came up to GRUB and hung, waiting for the drive to appear. It gave a detection error on another boot that I cannot remember (POST message from BIOS).Because I had a virtual machine file on it that was temporarily ONLY on this drive, I tried it in my other M.2 slot and it did the same thing. It detected in the BIOS originally as "Dogfish 2TB" if I recall correctly. Now, it detected as "SM2259AB-10-00811000". I put this same stick into my desktop PC with an mSATA adapter and it detected the same way, but this gave more detail - it was a 1.0 GB disk now!I requested a replacement from Amazon and received one yesterday, installed Linux on to it - or at least TRIED to... at about 95% into the installation, it hung. As I expanded the installation window to see the terminal output, I saw "Error sending ATA command..." on device sda. Thinking that this might be my USB stick (ok, hopeful thinking) I re-created a boot stick with the same ISO on it... I got to the point of starting to partition, and it told me there was not enough space to install Ubuntu! So, I checked... and this drive is now detecting as "SM2259AB-10-00811000" as well!! Another 2TB drive magically converted to a 1GB drive. All of this happened while the laptop was fully assembled with the back cover on and sitting securely on a table for installation. I cannot think of any possible way that I damaged these units.I will not be buying another Dogfish.

Perfect fit!
Product as described. Fit perfectly in a generation 2 Lenovo yoga 12. Be forewarned that until drive is formatted correctly does slow computer down significantly. Not sure what the cause is, but can be formatted once booted into your main drive. I’ve had the drive for a couple of months now, and still very happy with the very affordable purchase.

You get what you pay for !UPDATED! UPDATED Again!!
READ TO THE END:This ssd's best feature is its price per GB. By no means is this thing fast and after 3 days of testing, I can decidedly state that it's the slowest ssd I've ever owned. My Crucial and AData 1 TB and even my Sandisk 512 smoke this drive in speed and snappiness.Blackmagic Speed Disk doesn't like it much at all and I have to simply hope that its trading speed for reliability. I've attached photos of the best scores it's managed between an internal iMac, thunderbolt Mac Studio and an i7 8700 Hackintosh both internally and in a 3.2 usb enclosure. I'll be back should anything happen down the road...Addendum: so I'm back only a couple of days later. This drive is going back. The write speed of this drive on files larger than say 10Gb combined with maybe the thermal controls (the temp sensor on board is stuck at 40 - it doesn't work), make this far slower than even my 5400 rpm WD drive. The buffer on this drive must be just puny. If your work is transfer intensive and you work with large files, such as video, then you need to avoid this drive. For everyday use it is likely acceptable, but for me it doesn't suffice. Too bad because I really like the name...Addendum#2: back again. I wanted to like this drive so bad and really didn't want to open up my iMac yet again, but after several more comparison tests where the Dogfish copied a 115GB file in 28 Minutes! - where another ssd test drive did the same transfer in only 9 minutes, well.. And to make matters worse I received a SMART warning that basically said it's time to say goodbye (see pics). I wish I could charge for the time this drive has taken out of my life. It isn't right that we buy things with trust and then have to verify how good/bad something is - otherwise, ... well, you know: warranties aside (since they are so hard and time intensive to redeem, etc), too much time will pass before you can pinpoint am issue then Amazon won't take it back. Good luck to you all who purchase/have purchased this drive.

Waste of time and money.
After hours of messing around in CMD and trying countless cords and readers, it went to a tech who also fought and lost complete dud. Beware.
