Good looking, installs easily, works great, and costs little. A perfect product.
Installed on my old 2002 Honda Civic Coupe that I've been using a pair of pliers to open the hood on for years. I don't know why I didn't do this sooner. I bought the red version and it looks great, and is made of nice solid metal with 2 set screws to secure it to the shaft of the hood release cable. Installation took me about 15 minutes, with the bulk of that time being spent removing the body panel and, importantly, dremeling away the old plastic around the metal rod this attaches to. That's a required step, it would be pretty difficult to do without power tools, so make sure you have some sort of tool that can cut the plastic sheathing off. The hood open pull lever on my car takes about double the intended force to use, so I was worried the set screws wouldn't be enough to hold it in place, but it definitely is. In other words, this is just a great product. It looks even better than the original, fits perfectly and is high quality.

Works exactly as described highly recommended
Item exactly as described, installed it less than five minutes works very very well... Paid extra for overnight shipping but Amazon had it on the truck for delivery all day and at 9:20 PM the GPS signal was lost and I got an email at 10:10 telling me it's running behind... I was watching this so I can make sure I was here and it said there was only three deliveries left mine was the last one, Amazon needs to get on it it seems like their service is going downhill.

Very Cost Effective Solution
2004 Honda Element Itโs been awhile since Iโve left a product review, but I could let it pass on this one. I broke the handle off of my hood release a couple months ago. I had since been able to open it with decent finger grip strength ;) However, with my son driving the car more, I knew it was time to fix it. That being said, I came across this product (and others like it), by accident. As you may have seen, replacing the entire cable isnโt exactly difficult, but it is definitely a bit involved. I had this handle on and done in less than 10 mins from start to finish. 1. Removed the interior kick panel that surround the hood release handle. As far as I remember, it just pulls off, being held in place by clips. 2. Used a Dremel with a cutoff wheel to remove the remainder of the broken plastic handle from the steel rod. 3. Installed this new, aluminum handle, using a bit of thread lock on the Allen screws (you donโt have to use thread lock). 4. Reinstalled the kick panel. Getting it on correctly and lined up under the bottom door sill cover took most of my time. Done! One more tip that seems to make a big difference for me was simply applying lubricating oil to the moving parts of the latch itself. With the new handle it now opens better than when new. Genius product that I wouldnโt hesitate to buy again a recommend!

I love these things.
This is a secret favorite thing to put on my hondas. Simple to install and now i don't get the gas and the hood levers mixed up.

The handle is better than the original .. it's made of metal
the thread for the set screw wasn't right and stripped so I had to tap it for a different screw . It could have been a fluke with the one I have but otherwise it did the trick and is better than the original ... I used it on an 05 Honda Civic .. I had to use a pair of dikes to cut away the remainder that was still on the cable ... It was plastic so it wasn't very difficult

Excellent sturdy replacement lever for 96 Civic hood cable
Good alternative to the plastic factory part or changing the whole cable. The original plastic factory cable levers tend to break. It takes a little work to remove the remaining plastic broken plastic from the cable shaft, but once you do, this aluminum replacement lever is much sturdier than the original plastic part. Just be sure that the set screws are included when you receive this item. When you finish the installation, be sure to lubricate the cable at the latch end. Also, probably a good idea to periodically tighten the set screws on the new lever to be sure it doesn't slip in the future.

Good quality handle, bad paint
Mine came blemished with what looks like a dab of paint. Someone must not have been super careful with powder coating or however they painted it. My car isn't the prettiest so I guess this just matches the aesthetic. Doesn't affect functionality, but still disappointed with the quality control
