Loud Sound, Very loud.
LOUD! Just what I needed to get rid of a brown bear in my driveway. I live in a rural area so wanted a lout horn. I think I will use hearing protection next time. Good emergency horn for home or boating.

Lasts a long long time. My first one just died and I bought it in 2015.
I bought one in 2015 to keep on my mountain bike to scare away dogs who like to chase me on the street. Worked well for the dachshund who would chase me, I didn't want to hit it and hurt the poor thing but also didn't want my ankles bitten. After using it to prank girlfriends and coworkers, in traffic at people who get road rage towards me (you should try it sometime, their facial expressions are hilarious!), it finally died this year in 2023. I could nor tell you hoe many blasts I got out of it but it had to be at least 100. It sat in my truck during high and low temperature durations and never leaked or busted. Highly recommend it for boats or pranking like I used mine!

It's a shorts SHARTER! No more trespassers through my property.
Before I purchased my little home, it was used as a cut through to other homes. I live in a small Florida community where our property lines are close to each other (I'm 6 feet from two homes and when they take that shortcut through my property they can see right into my lanai and pool area). I was able to get all but a few neighbors to cease that practice with a gentle request, however, there are always a few who insist they will do what they want. My security vids did not stop them nor did my repeated requests for them to cease. Because I live in a golf course community, no fencing is allowed so I purchased the Shoreline Marine Air Horn and waited. Didn't take but a few days and sure enough, another homeowner is cutting through my property...however, this time I was ready and blew a nice blast from this airhorn and watched them literally jump out of their "slides", land on their chubby bums and like a cartoon, couldn't get up fast enough and they actually doubled back to the road to finish walking to their home. OMG this is better than cable viewing and I got it on video too. I couldn't wait for the next cut through and 24 hours later, a neighbor's older kid got the horn and I think I really scared the poop out of him because he kept digging the shorts out of his crack. This horn is so loud and frightening that I guarantee it will not only work for Marine safety but keeping folks from cutting through your yard. The word got out because no more cut throughs but I must admit, I will miss watching these peeps shart their shorts.

I'm actually excited for the neighbors dog to bark....
Bought this because my neighbors dog barks non-stop when left alone during the day. Normally not a big deal, but when the window is left open, it gets old very fast... Hopefully a quick blast from this will do the trick. Not really much to say about the item itself. Obviously, it is *extremely* loud; a quick blast actually made me jump, and I was the one holding it. It was painfully loud. The horn is plastic with brass fittings. I don't think the horn would hold up well being stepped on or crushed, but it is solid enough and serves it's purpose. The can seems like it will have enough gas for many, many uses. Be careful, this is definitely not a toy...

It works and its loud!
It works and its LOUD.I got it for a sporting tournament festival to mark the start and the end (beats shouting) so I can't yet say how long the compress gas will stay in the can (if you put on a boat, let's say). The plastic horn easily mounts to the can and it takes little pressure to sound the horn. Definitely keep it away from your ears as its pretty deafening. The size is about the size of a 8oz can of WD40 or a can of soda so its not something you can easily fit into a jacket pocket.

LOUD!!!!!
I use it when a telemarketer or scammer calls.

Not a lightweight toy - This horn will wake the dead!
I bought this to scare coyotes out of the backyard since I it's not legal to fire a gun in the city I live in. So far, I can say for a certainty the loudness of this horn will scare anybody unprepared for it. I played with it a bit, and it is VERY LOUD. The size of the cannister means it will last more than few uses too, so I'm happy with that. I can see it's use for boating as well as camping or getting attention in a remote area. It would work for any use case like that. Your ears literally ring for a bit if you don't use hearing protection when you operate it!

May or may not work against dogs
This air horn is LOUD! I got it to use against dogs, bears, cougars, and coyotes since I ride my adult trike in rural areas around my little town in Colorado. So far I've only used it against dogs. Please be aware that this won't work for all dogs. I was chased once by a pack of three dogs and the air horn caused two of them to back off, but the third wasn't fazed. The pit bull-mix did even back down after I hit it in the eyes with pepper spray! He just squinted and kept after us. Some dogs have a high pain tolerance. Fortunately, after he cornered my poor frightening dog, who sat down and cowered submissively, all he did was sniff. I don't like using pepper spray against dogs, but I'm not going to wait until either me or my dog are bleeding before I take action. It's the owner's responsibility to keep their dogs out of the streets. While this air horn doesn't always work on dogs, that's not the fault of the air horn, so I didn't take off any stars for that. Please be very aware of how you hold the can - if you use it while it is tilted, the liquid propellant can leak out and is so cold it can burn your skin. Keep the can completely upright to avoid this.
