Little miracles!
Anyone that gets cold sores/fever blisters, this is a MUST HAVE! I've used a cream in the past but I haven't had 1 in so long I didn't have anything on hand this time so I tried these and wow! I had gotten the first tingle & itch and by the next day a small red bump was starting right on the edge of my lip. These came within 24hrs and I applied the 1st one as soon as I got them. They are tricky, as I almost threw away the piece w/ the actual patch on it. There is a clear plastic tab and a teak plastic protective cover. The patch is on the clear tab, NOT THE TEAL PLASTIC COVER! Peel the clear tab, being careful not to touch anything but the rounded edge to pull. Throw away the teal plastic cover. The clear patch is on the clear tab and it is super difficult to see. Make sure ur skin is dry, no oils or creams or anything. Stretch ur skin so it's taut and place the patch on it. Press it down so all the edges are sealed, holding it down for several seconds to make sure. Sometimes it took a little longer than others so I would carefully peel back the side of the clear applicator tab to see if the patch was adhered before pulling the whole tab away. Once it is fully adhered, carefully pull the clear plastic applicator tab away. Smooth down the patch while keeping ur skin nice and taut. It was completely invisible! I couldn't believe my eyes! Not only could I not see the patch, but it concealed the growing bump somewhat and I could see how easily u can apply make-up over it if needed. Instantly, I had no symptoms! No tingling, no itching, gone like magic!!!! What is this sorcery???? It lasted ALL DAY even under a hot sweaty silicone face mask, through talking, eating and drinking, no problems! It says up to 12hrs relief, so I made the mistake of thinking I NEEDED to take it off after 12hrs... but u don't! U should leave it on as long as it stays on & as long as it's providing relief. So after 12hrs when I pulled it off, I found I had to pull all the edges up carefully and pull the opposite edges AWAY from each other, NOT pulling the patch away from the skin. Pulling the sides away from each other caused it to come loose naturally without pulling the skin and came up without hurting or breaking the skin. If u pull it up and away from the skin, u could break the skin and defeat the purpose, further delaying healing. Really u should leave it until it is falling off on its own. It says in the directions to leave on a long as it stays on. I was able to get more than 24hrs adhesion and relief with ONE PATCH! if u leave it until its ready to fall off on its own, it comes off, super easily, without pulling, and I found it helped healing much more. I simply kept each patch on until it was ready to be removed (u will notice the edges start to come up and when u pull a little u will feel theres very little adhesion left). I would just clean the area w/ some witch Hazel (or use another cleaning drying agent), and put another patch on. Normally w/ a cream, it would take at least 5-7 days to scab and then another 5-7 days for the scab to heal. If I was really lucky to catch it at very first tingle, maybe I could shorten it by a couple of days. It may not have gotten as big and awful but it still went thru the same process basically. But with the patch, it NEVER turned into anything! It stayed the small red bump and then disappeared over 4-5 days. It never got any bigger, it never turned into a scab, nothing!!!! I probably could have stopped treatment end of day 4 when the patch came off naturally, but there was still a little red mark, not raised, but just a little red, and i didnt want to take any chances being this is my 1st time using them. I put another fresh patch and end of day 5, the patch came off and there was nothing! I'm in complete shock. These are incredible! I can't believe how well they work and how well they conceal! I had to look so hard in the mirror to see the patch...it really is unbelievable. The key is to really follow the directions. Like I said, dont remove them before they are ready to fall off! Make sure the skin is super dry and they are applied well. They are worth every penny!!!! I highly recommend!

Magical game changer.
Is it a bit expensive? Yes. Is it worth it? HARD YES. I've had oral cold sores my literal entire life (only kiss babies on the top of the head, people!!!) and I don't mess around with them. I ALWAYS have Valtrex on hand, but sometimes I wake up with a stupid established sore and it's just awful. I have L-lysine cream, Abreva, etc. These patches are better. They are MAGICAL. First, the pain and itching stop immediately when I put one on. Second, they hide the sore. They are much thinner than acne patches and competing cold sore patches - truly almost invisible. And they blur enough that, even if someone notices the patch, they won't see what it's covering. Third, they start healing immediately - so much faster than anything else I've tried. The paches seem to start peeling when they've dehydrated the sore...in my experience, the bigger the sore, the quicker a patch will peel. I consider that a feature, not a bug - it means I know when it's time to change out the patch to keep the healing moving forward and I can literally see the reason-a big sore will have noticeably shrunk in 6 hours. Yes, please, to that! Fourth, the packaging is genius. The patches are individually packaged in self-contained small sterile pods (around the size of a quarter) that you can carry in a purse or pocket. One note of caution-on rare occasions a patch won't come off the backing, so always bring one more than you think you might need. I work in the type of highly professional field where I have canceled or rescheduled certain events rather than appear with an established cold sore. These patches have 100% solved that for me. They really are discrete. Cost-wise, I'd say it's about $2.00 per day (accounting for the occasional failed application and need to change them out) to heal a sore radically faster, no scab, no splitting skin, and truly hide the sore. Paired with Valtrex even larger sores are gone - GONE - in 4 to 5 days. Even if you can only afford to use them for the first day or two - do it. You will still save yourself days of healing and have a much smaller scab (I ran out once on vacation and it was still SO much better). This review is purely motivated by a desire to praise a product that exeeded my expectations in every way. I have not been paid or compensated in any way, shape, or form for writing it, and no one requested I write it. I pay full retail price, just like everyone else. I am just a very satisfied customer!

Iโve cracked the healing process
I know we all struggle with that dreaded pain and discomfort of getting a cold sore, and a lengthy healing time is the last thing we want, so Iโm here to share my process and hopefully help others speed up their recovery time. My kit is compiled of a red light therapy device (1072nm), lysine pills, lysine lip ointment by Quantum Health, alcohol wipes and mederma patches. At the first tingle I wipe the area with alcohol wipe, use red light for 3 minutes and then cover the area with a patch. I take one lysine pill a day. The patch stays on overnight, and in the morning Iโll remove it, apply some lysine ointment and let it breath a little, then after about 30 mins Iโll wipe the area with alcohol again, do another 3 mins of red light, and apply a fresh patch. This process is repeated for 3 times each day. Usually this stops a blister even forming, and by day 3 Iโm already mostly healed, and by day 5 Iโd say Iโm back to normal. The patches are great for protecting the skin from being damaged, and also contains it to help prevent spreading the infection. The alcohol wipes help to keep it dry, and also ensure the patches adhere and stay put. The lysine helps the healing and without a doubt the star of the show is the red light, which I donโt know how it works but it basically stops the sore in itโs tracks and speeds up recovery time immensely. I always carry all of these items with me in my handbag so that Iโm ready to act as soon as I feel one coming on. I hope this helps someone to ease the suffering of a flare up!

Worth the money!!
Worked well. It is hard for anything to stick to the wet part of a lip. But it is thin and sticks well to cover the open sore. Does not stand up to water like brushing teeth. No taste. Size is just right. Smaller than a dime.

Useful, soft, good at isolating so there's no multiplying!
Probably my favorite patches. They're velvety and smooth on the outside, and they feel like they blend right in with my skin. When I put makeup on top of the patch, it's ALMOST seamless! They're very sticky, so they will stick all day as long as your cold sore isn't oozing a lot. When it's at that point of the healing stage I usually just end up taking it off, dabbing it with a tissue and throwing another one on. I keep these in my purse for on the go, just in case. But these help keep it covered so it never spreads, and honestly I was skeptical at first. But after a week it got rid of my cold sore without spreading and creating more. Very useful to have. I usually have these along with lysine gummies! I take the lysine gummies as soon as I feel tingle and that usually gets rid of the cold sore BEFORE it pops up. But I still keep these just in case!

This is a lifesaver! Just get it if you suffer from cold sores!
Holy cow! Get this if you suffer from cold sores! Cliche but I have to say, I wish I had known sooner! It not only covers my cold sores but it dries it out and heals it faster! On top of that I even took a shower with it on and the patch is still on. The only time it starts to peel off is when I put it too near the opening of my mouth then it starts to peel off. I think maybe my saliva and due to eating makes the edges start to peel when I put it too near opening of my mouth. But other than that, this is my go to for when I have cold sores. I suffer with cold sores all my life. I honestly like it better than any creams. Plus its pretty discreet. Its not entirely discreet but I'm totally okay with that. I don't put makeup over it just because that's my preference, but you can. I love how the product is a nice healing bandage over the cold sore and it's very effective and efficient!

Really makes the cold sore way less visible!
These patches do an excellent job concealing a cold sore while it heals. I was impressed by how natural it looks once applied. It blends in well and feels very comfortable, almost like a second layer of skin. After a few minutes I barely noticed it was there. For best adhesion, it helps to press the patch down with warm fingers for about 20 to 30 seconds right after applying. Doing this made a noticeable difference in how securely it stayed in place. Mine held up through eating and drinking without lifting at the edges. I was able to wear a single patch for several hours, and it concealed the sore well enough that I did not feel the need to put makeup over it. It even held up during kissing, although it is still wise to follow general precautions during an outbreak. The only limitation I noticed is that I would not expect it to stay on during swimming or heavy water exposure. For regular day to day wear, though, it performs very well. I would recommend these to anyone looking for a discreet, comfortable way to protect and hide a cold sore in public. They are easy to use, comfortable to wear, and effective for everyday situations.

some patches may not stick on, but rip your skin and further damage your lip. 3/12
Update: 17 days later, my lip is still healing in the spot that tore from these patches. I think it could have possibly spread more under the patch in the process of splitting my lip and bursting the blister while the patch was ontop. Probably will not use again. This is my worst recovery time yet, and first time using the patches. I want to love this, but let me share my experience to help anyone at the various states know what to expect!!! Last week I felt a cold sore tingling on Tuesday, I put ice on as I awaited for this and some abreva to come. My lip was painful so I iced my lip which caused blistering. Wednesday morning, I put abreva on but it was quite painful... then these arrived. Once my lip was dry in the blisted state, I put this on. At first, I was uncertain how it would fit... let me tell you, if in question, just put two on because it worked quite nicely for me in the beginning. Once you put it on, you cannot move it otherwise it rips the skin.. Happened to me which I think made it spread a little further while the patch was on top... Moving forward, I would keep the patches on when I slept so it felt like I wasn't oozing while sleeping. The patches did help with the pain temporarily. Thursday, I went to urgent care and got a prescription and medical cream. I put this on, taking breaks to "medicate, then dry" but putting a new one on to go to sleep. Friday, it felt like I was experiencing the "last day of the blistering" to the cracking and peeling stage. This felt like it contained the ooing, but I was worried about what was happening under the patch. Saturday came, then I experienced cracking and bleeding due to the patches not fully staying on and puffing away from the skin. This issue gets worse when you move your lips a little more. Sunday the same thing, except it was the patches not being able to be applied properly due to an adhesive issue. That day, I experienced 3 patches that did not remove from it's application, but stuck to my lip, ripping the scabs off and causing bleeding. Today is day 6 since the blisters. My lip is pretty raw to be expected, but I am not applying these anymore to allow my lip to heal. We both think that it is ripping the scabs and not helping at this point. I'd say, in the blisted state, this is great.... however, if you get a bad one and it sticks to the application, know its painful, especially in the earlier days. Also note, if using, plan to know that it lasts 12 hours tops. I recommend mainly for sleeping, but also plan time to air out the wound. If you are working 9-5, I recommend putting it on around 8 am, taking it off and cleaning after work (once it is pulled away from the skin) then airing out and putting a new one on by 7-8pm so your overnight one can be removed and replaced in the morning. One day I put it on at 11pm and could not remove until 11am since it was stuck on the blisters still. I wish you all healing as this is an uncomfortable experience. This helped, but also was in a way, counter productive. As others have mentioned, I love how discreet this is, if you can put it a little away from your mouth, they last longer by not getting wet and isn't as noticeable as you think, but once it puffs away from the skin its noticable and generally has puss and raw skin underneath.
