The two critters behave somewhat differently with the butterfly revolving much faster than the hummingbird and it was smacking the cat in the face. It didn't hurt her but it was moving just a bit too fast for her to have time to figure out what to do with it. I slowed it down slightly by putting some blu tac on the wire and that helped a bit. The hummingbird fascinated them a little more as it sort of flutters and is a bit slower. For the price it's an ok toy and some cats will go for it more than others. My big boy was more interested than the two girls and the older female barely gave it a glance. Don't expect to be able to leave this for them to play with on their own really. It tips easily as the base isn't heavy so you might as well be using an interactive toy with your cats instead. As you can see from the video, as soon as he grabbed at it, it tipped over. This might be a better thing to put near a baby's crib where they can see it but not grab it as it's quite pretty and distracting.

This is a pack of 2 toys: 1 with a butterfly, 1 with a hummingbird. Each toy needs 1 AAA battery to run and there is an on/off switch on the bottom. My cats played with these for at least a month before I had to change a battery. The toys themselves are very lightweight. This is a positive and a negative. It's positive bc cats can knock it around and drag it like they would their prey, but it's a negative bc it gets knocked over and they lose interest. There are easy, creative solutions to this problem. The wire that holds the butterfly and hummingbird is thin. It can be bent to adjust the speed and height of the objects they're spinning. Bend it different ways to see what best attracts your cat. Bend it too much at the base and it may break, so be careful with that. Overall, these are good, inexpensive toys that cats enjoy. They're not the best quality, but they entertain my cats and that's what matters.

The toys are fairly cheaply made but really are holding up well. Our youngest cat will play with it for a long time and when he gets tired, he will lay down near it and bat at it once in a while when it goes around. Eventually he just lays there and watches the butterfly spin around slowly as the battery wears down. There are two toys in the set and we have not opened the bird yet. When he (the cat) gets to the point that he lays and watches the toy spin, I will put it away for awhile and when he is bored, I bring it back out. It does give him more to do than pester my 17 year old cat. lol The old boy doesn't want to be bothered. lol It is a great toy and has lasted well. I would buy it again.

My cat absolutely loved this. But it had some quality issues. Their customer serivce was great though. Very responsive and helpful.

Base is way too small and toy attachment is way too heavy!I used the wire toy attachment and used it with a different base but the attachment is too heavy and it scraped the ground.Not worth it.The base part is totally useless. There is another model of spinning butterfly that also came with a very weak, unstable base unit. With that other model, I affixed to to a sturdy piece of cardboard and the toy was usable, because the on/off switch was on the side. This models on/off button is on the bottom, making it impossible to utilize that same solution. Which makes this a useless toy.

I should have read the description more closely. I believed this item would spin in varying speeds and directions. However, it spins in one direction, rather rapidly, without pause. It doesn't entice my cat at all, because it is just spinning rapidly. When he did get close, the butterfly hit him in the face and he was annoyed, at best. The butterfly does not flutter at all, it is stiff plastic with somewhat sharp edges. I would send this back but had to destroy the packaging to get it out. I gave it two stars since I didn't read the description well enough.

Really disappointed, I knew the toy would not last too much but my older cat loves a similar one she received as a gift from one of my friends so decided to order it to cheer her up. After 7 days finally received the package.....Empty. Received my refund from Amazon but I won't probably ask for another one from the same seller.

My cats love it but you have to stay with them and make sure the plastic does not break and the cats do not choke on it and then I put away when not in use and cats being supervised

the bird quickly became dislodged from the wire and even after re-attachment, my cats lost interest within minutes.

Exactly as advertised arrived with in the allotted time. My cats love them
