Taconic Shave Premium Natural Pre-Shave Oil (2 oz.) – Unscented – Protects Against Irritation and Razor Burn when Shaving with a Cartridge, Safety or Straight Razor

I shave in the shower. I've shied away from oils in favor of other pre-shave products because the oil would hang around on the floor of the shower and would need to be specifically washed away. That was annoying enough, but they didn't seem to help out much. This is a good quality pre-shave oil. I get nice results with it. This oil doesn't travel around and get all over the place - including the floor. It's almost sticky by comparison and stays on your hands so you can apply it to your face. My only complaint is the squirt bottle is kind of wonky and I have to This is my new favorite pre-shave product. Does a great job staying where it has been applied and lubricates the shave area well.

Here's what I really *love* about this pre-shave oil: everything. It is slick and thick enough to soften my scruff before shaving and washes off my hands easily. Also, with other oils, my face and pores feel clogged, NOT the case with this oil. The non-scented version still has a very, very, very light scent (it is an oil, after all, so don't expect it to be absolutely scent-free). Have you tried putting a twisty cap back on with oil on your hands (instead of waiting until you are done...which I never remember to do for some reason)? If yes, then this is a pretty solid solution; even if you drop or knock the bottle over, it won't spill everywhere. Also, the pump allows you to use as much as you want/need for your shave...you know how much you want or need. This is a pretty good product, and I regularly don't review anything unless I consider it 4 or 5 stars and above. I hope they keep the formula the same. It works, works well, and works as described and as expected.

Never used a Pre-Shave before (well with the exception for the ones when I foolishly used an electric shaver, yuk), but as a born-again "DE safety razor" user, I never have. This product goes on strangely. By that I mean is a bit thicker than what I expected. However; it does the job; I do like the product. I use it with the Merkur 39c slant-bar razor "The Sledgehammer" and it makes shaving a delight. Easy glide no nicks, burns, or irritation. Very nice upon application, and it holds the lather extremely well. Even with multiple passes the face lathers up nicely. The only down side that I see, is that it may make you have to deep wash your brush(es) a bit more often, as opposed to when you are not using an oil. It has a natural scent, oily -- but not crankcase oil, but definitely NOT perfumy. Overall it is a good product that will help you in reducing shaving "mishaps" like: burns, bumps, and whisker-drag as much as possible, albeit, one still must be careful when wielding a sharp blade around the face in the early morning hours before a cup of coffee.

I needed a travel size shaving oil and this one fit the bill - the oil is so good I'm now using it all the time, not just when traveling though it's compact size is really great for traveling. I have very sensitive skin and this oil really helps on the irritation and making shaving so much easier. Highly recommend.

The is a great product, and I love the nature smell it has. It's not.....fake or commercialized.... It just smells.....natural. I don't know if I'll keep using shave oil because I am young and there is all easy so many steps in straight Razor shaving with stooping, and whining he shave soap/cream, blade handling, etc. Compared to the using the cartridge inthe shower in 20 seconds. Don't get me wrong, I'm going to SR shave for years to come, I'm just saying this is a wonderful product well worth the money but I don't feel worth the extra time/step with everything else. BUT!..... If you want a closer smother irritationless shave for your normal shave routine, or like in my case most likely use for special occasions like dates and holidays etc. Then this is something that s a must.

Great product! Love that it is unscented! It will last you for 4-6 months of regular shaving using 3-4 pumps per shave. Comes in a manly looking bottle that is small enough to carry-on a plane. I have an extremely thick and wiry beard therefore I use one of the sharpest blades I can find (Feathers) and a nice shaving soap, and unfortunately I also have sensitive skin. After experimenting with not using pre-shave oil it is quite obvious that I will either cut myself up or not get a close enough shave if I don't use it. This stuff works plus I love that it is unscented so I don't end up smelling like a greasy used car salesman. The unscented also means that you can add your own scent it if you want. I pumped about 10-15 sprays of my mild cologne into one of these bottles and shook it up for an understated scent that my wife loves because it smells like me (not some scent that the oil manufacturer decided to add on a whim). My wife is looking over my shoulder and said that I have to add that she stole it once to use on her legs in a pinch and it works well for that too without drying out your legs (although you will have to use more oil than for just shaving a face).

This was highly recommended, but in my opinion, it’s too thick and sticky.

I like this pre-shave oil. In comparison to pre-shave creams that I have used, this oil really does appear to make a difference in the closeness of shave. The pre-shave creams didn't appear to affect the closeness of the shave. I am using this along with Taconic shaving soap and Taconi After Shave Balm. My wife and I both agree that my face looks healthier after using these products as compared to when I use other products. I think the healthy difference is because all of these products are oil-based. I'm amending my previous review above to add more about my satisfaction with this product. I've been using Taconic pre-shave oil for about a year. I'm completely delighted with this product. It's so good that on days when I am in a hurry, I just put the oil on my face and shave without even using shaving cream. I follow that up with Taconic After Shave Balm (another excellent product) and I'm good to go!

Earlier I had used the Taconic shaving cream which was superb..and now this product is awesome too..it smells great..provides fantastic softening to the beard prior shaving..I am absolutely satisfied

L article est exactement comme sur la photo. L odeur est super agréable (je ne connaissais que les produits à l'aloe vera) mais le top c est la manière dont le produit (pour les débutants, bien à mettre avant/sous le savon à barbe lui-même) arrive à rendre la lame douce. Ça ne rape pratiquement plus la peau ni arrache les poils c est vraiment super!

Como aficionado al afeitado clásico voy probando productos nuevos siempre que tengo oportunidad. Y ahora le ha tocado a este aceite de pre-afeitado Taconic. Tras dos semanas de uso ya puedo dar mi valoración y es totalmente positiva. Lo situaría a la altura del pre de Dr K Soap ya que con ambos consigues una buena protección y lubricación. Y cómo es deseable en este tipo de producto, ayuda a un mejor deslizamiento de la cuchilla y no interfiere en el espumado (y es que algunos de estos productos no permiten generar una buena espuma con brocha).
