High quality auger bit
This review is for the 08809, 3/4β auger bit. I bought this bit to replace a broken auger I had used for years. That old one did a good job cutting into many different wood species and drilled into end grains many times. After some research I found the Wood Owl bits. The price was good (about $40.00 in 2022 dollars) and was in stock. It was put to work drilling holes for anchor bolts to retrofit an older home to be more earthquake resistant. That bit went through old growth lumber with ease. It drilled cleaner, faster and was straighter than my old bit. The drill also seemed to have less of a load on it was well. The overall quality is very high and the black PTFE finish is very smooth which probably has something to do with why the chips do not get stuck in the spirals. I would recommend this one without hesitation.

Really really good for deep holes
I have drilled a lot of holes in a lot of things in my life, and probably have more drill bits than nearly anyone who reads Amazon reviews of drill bits. I have single and double spur auger bits, ship augers, twist drills, brad points, bellhanger bits, electrician 36 inch flexible bits, concrete bits, hole saws galore, you name it. I have drilled many hundreds of holes as big as 2.5 inches with power augers, and ship augersThis bit is really good at not-necessarily clean holes deep into tough stuff. The most difficult wood-drilling job I know of is drilling deep into end grain, and although I have not yet used it in all species of wood, this bit did better than any bit I have ever used. I can't even quite figure out how; maybe the extra stiffness, so it doesn't bend to follow grain while deep in a hole, making drilling difficult. Maybe the teflon coating, allowing it to actually pull chips to the surface. I don't know, but this drill kicked butt for me.

Quality bit.
I drill through telephone poles all day, and for far to long I used a 1/16th size to big creating a wobble that was really annoying. That parts on me and only relevant because I put this WoodOwl through hell and abuse, it keeps on coming back for more. No signs of dulling, slides right through like the first day. This type of thing has many half cost competitors that look so similar it's amazing how they are so prone to binding up sawdust and just plain sucking. If you're here to decide 'hrmn, $40 or $20', you want this guy for $40. (rough estimate on prices)Thank you WoodOwl.

Best for deep holes
We drill treated 12β poles everyday. Bit flys through the wood with ease. Great bits.

Doing the work just perfectly
Perfect bit worth the price

not what I expected
I was hoping to drill a hole into a log from the top and from the side to make a "jet stove". The drill was not up to the challenge.
