FAVORITE INK BRAND. #1 PRICE + QUALITY.
I love Monteverde ink. Its hard to believe Ive been buying their ink for 10 YEARS now! I am into many different types of crafts as well as journaling, penpaling, and using FOUNTAIN PENS. I adore this ink, the colors, the prices, the fact that I can use it in all my fountain pens... I often use several inks to mix custom colors for my fountain pens, either for taking notes, writing letters, or journaling while needing to match a color scheme. The inks mix wonderfully and allow you SO much freedom to create your own shades, while also offering MANY shades so you dont have to mix your own. I love the variety of their colors, I love how durable the little jars are and the shape of the jar, I love how Ive never had an issue with bleeding or feather as long as I was using heavier weight paper. I have spilled water onto a page of notes and while it did fade the ink somewhat it strangely didnt reactivate the ink and cause it to just bleed into blobs Im not sure if it was just this particular green, if it was because of how long it was dry, who knows... so if I had to give an answer I would say that this particular shade is not waterproof. Purely because of the reactivation/fading after my notes got wet. The viscosity of the ink is great for fountain pens and fine tip calligraphy. Its also nice if you're using the ink for art or adding it to watercolor works. The ink blooms nicely and I have several colors... they all perform the same in my opinion. I have several inks from expensive brands, overpriced jars you'd find at Michael's, and as far as colored ink goes this is truly at the top of my list. You cannot beat the price. Ive had plenty of issues with my expensive inks and they just arent worth it in the end. I would love if Monteverde came out with a line of jars that had droppers. I wouldnt want the original jars/lines to be replaces but I would love a new like that had dropper lids! This Monteverde Green in particular is a very cool toned wintry green. Great for fall/winter, great for using in your fountain pen during the holidays, great for addressing envelopes when sending out Yule cards. It has the blue undertone that almost veers into a deep teal, but it is definitely green. Its great for mixing. Its a lovely shade for doing ink/watercolor art of forests, reptiles, anything with that vibe of a blue toned filter. Its a great color to have and Ive used it MANY times since Ive had it as well as my other colors from the brand.

I order a lot of Monteverde ink because it is affordable, well packaged and writes well. This color is very nice. It is warm brown it’s just a hint of orange. It is perfect for my journaling.

Gorgeous blue ink, just a little too wet for me.
I hate having to take one star, since I unequivocally love the color, and how it flows and makes the pen glide on the paper. And the price for such a large amount of ink (90ml!) is astonishing. It arrived well padded and packaged. It is also surprisingly water-resistant. However, I would not call it "100% waterproof," since water on the page causes some ink to move around, but the text remains quite dark and legible. Why 4 stars? It was a hard choice, and I wish I could just shave only 1/2 a star, since my experience will probably not happen to people with drier pens or those with Rhodia, Tomoe River, or Clairefontaine notebooks. I find it a tad wet, enough so that it bleeds minimally through the (according to their description) 100gsm notebooks I'm using (Billtigif Hardcover Spiral Notebook A4, and AHGXG Lined Journal Notebook A5). Not so much that the page becomes unusable, though (see pictures). I moved the ink from a LAMY Safari medium to an Asvine P20 fine, then extra fine. With the Asvine EF the issue lessened, but I still get some bleed through. Again, please refer to the pics: it's just an annoying property of the ink/page/pen combo... but it doesn't make the back of the page unusable. It dries fast enough so you can keep writing on them. FYI: "An Ink Guy" on YT didn't find this issue with Capri Blue on the premium paper he uses for his tests, so YMMV. I'll one day try using with an even finer nib, like a Pilot Kakuno EF (since Japanese nibs are even finer than German-like nibs like those found on the LAMYs and Asvines), to see if it helps, maybe even one of the papers "An Ink Guy" uses in his YT channel. I will keep using it since I love the color, and learn to live with the minimal bleed through. It would be a waste otherwise. Nevertheless, I'll keep searching for a vibrant blue ink that doesn't do that. Cheers.

Wonderful ink
The color of the ink is slightly more green than teal but that’s fine. I love the red sheen that shows up, even while using a fine nib. It’s a very wet ink that flows well in all my pens. There hasn’t been any bleed through on any of the papers I have that are fountain pen friendly. I’m looking forward to trying out more Monteverde ink in the future.

Nice brown color
Love the brown on this

Mooie helder blauwe kleur. De inkt vloeit normaal en droogt relatief snel. Fijne combinatie van eigenschappen.

I love this shade of pink, it's just so delicate. It's a true pale pink, which is what I wanted. It's a lovely cool pink. As with all Monteverde inks it doesn't like cheaper paper (I think it's the additive they use) but I have it in a 1.1mm stub nib, so a thinner nib, like midium or fine, could yield better results. I'll definitely buy it again.

Supplied in a generous 90ml bottle at a very good price despite being imported from the USA - other imported inks are far more expensive. The colour is rich and deep with no obvious hints of green, blue or brown that others seem often to show. The ink is regarded as 'dry' and it is quite viscous but Monteverde use their IFT technology to restore better flow and to lubricate the pen's innards and nib - the method works extremely well. On paper, the written line is juicy and thick but dries quickly within about 10 seconds. A broad-nibbed pen was used which translates to a little more ink being transferred and slightly longer drying times. A fine nib would reduce both effects. Due to its native high viscosity, the ink is best matched to nibs and/or individual pens that are considered to be naturally wet writers, compensating for their high rate of ink flow. Monteverde's inks will be suitable for use in most of the premium pen brands (Waterman not so well) as characteristics are similar to their self-branded products and most of the reputable Japanese brands (Pilot, Sailor, Platinum etc). Thus far, of the few colours purchased, each behaves similarly in a small variety of pens of differing brands. The range comprises 21 main colours, plus a couple of specialised highlighter inks (only to be used in suitable pens), which is a reasonably wide selection without confusing by having too many shades of a single colour. Other than this black, there are a few more blues than other individual colours which also include one or more shades of green, red, brown, violet and purple. These are the more commonly used colours but the range is periodically expanded. Inexpensive and highly recommended.

The ink flows well and behaves nicely but beyond that it has nothing going for it. For this price you could buy an interesting green Diamine ink.
