Candied Orange Peel Slices - Hallab 1881 - Crystallized Bitter Orange Peel 1.1 lbs (16 oz.)

These came in a very nice box with a lovely red satin ribbon. They are bitter orange peels candied as a confection, beautifully deep orange and soft. It seems a shame to use them in cooking, but they are very good. Note that shredded as a decoration on top of a cake, their color does not go to waste. I will use them from now on and of course, I will snitch one for myself! It seems that this is a renowned and venerable family firm.

I thought these were awful!!! I thought them out after the first bite.

5 star taste. I did not give it 5 overall because it came in a half full container. There were 7 full pieces and 1 very small. so the container was half full. For the price, I thought the container should be full, or at least contain 10-12 pieces. If you just want taste, and don't care about the cost, this is a winner.

The package arrived with sticky sugar syrup on the outside of the shipping box. Inside the shipping box was a clear plastic clamshell box with whole peels from 4 half oranges, not the slices indicated.The peels fill about 60% of the box and they banged into each other during shipment. I don't know what they taste like, but they aren't very pretty. The nice clamshell box is sticky everywhere because sugar syrup leaked out the seam, so you must wash your hands every time you touch it. This would be totally unsuitable for a gift.

Wonderful product that arrived quickly. The orange slices were, as pictured, thick and juicy and were absolutely fresh and delicious. The package arrived intact, the fruit in a reuseable hard plastic box nestled in a heavy mailing box. Shelf life suggested one year. The company has been in business since 1881, hence the name, and they appear to take great pride in their product. I wish that Amazon would carry more from this company. I had enough for my Christmas cakes with leftovers for making orange chocolate candies and baking scones. Bravo!

The product does not look anything like the picture. It looks mouldy, and chunky with broken off pieces.

Clearly a very natural product, authentic citrus flavor with a sligh bitter tang to it, that provides a complex and I like to think healthy note. It doesn't look bright orange or have sugar crystals on the exterior. However it is satisfyingly multilayered because it tastes natural. A robust taste, in the same way that an amaretti is a clear almond taste. A little goes a long way.

I bought a new box as soon as my 1st ran out they are so good.I ate like 3 they are so good I would just eat them the way they are no waste in covering up the flavor with anything else they taste better then any candy and naturally sweet.
