This is insane
I'm a stomach sleeper, and I have some chronic shoulder/arm tendon issues, because I end up with my arm stretched out under my head and pillow. No matter what I did, this issue was just getting worse over time. What I didn't realize was how much this was also affecting my sleep quality. The first night with this pillow, I had the best sleep I can recall. I didn't wake up at all, until morning when I woke up in the same position I fell asleep in. I thought I was imagining it, but my arms felt better too. Now, after a couple weeks, my arms are both far better. I also realized that it's helping with my mild sleep apnea. Every day I would get tired mid day, and need a nap. I haven't needed a nap once since I bought the pillow. CPAP was out - there's no way I can sleep with the mask on, which was fortunate considering the machine I used is recalled due to risk of causing lung cancer (a whole other story). Stomach sleepers can absolutely use this pillow, but the body pillow also helps me get into a comfortable side-sleeping position. One note is you need to position yourself high enough up on the pillow where your arm easily comes straight down into the channel, while also not increasing strain on your back. This is individual to the user. In all, I thought the price was expensive for some foam, but it's a small price to pay for the relief it has brought me.

SO UNCOMFORTABLE! YOU'LL FEEL LIKE YOU FELL 12 STORIES WHEN YOU WAKE UP!
I bought this pillow, because of some unexplained tingling I have in my hands and feet. Dr thought it might be worth a try to elevate and align my neck. I am a side sleeper too. So I saw this as FSA eligible and bit. THE WEDGE: It is as most other neg reviews have said. No matter what I do, I can't get comfy. It's so STIFF it hurts my whole dang torso in the AM. I will say it works great to elevate feet and legs. If I sleep on the lower third, I'm alright usually, but that sort of defeats the purpose of the arm hole. And I have been having arm and shoulder pain this whole time, worse than ever. If I sleep on my back it sorta does the job of helping me not snore...only sometimes though. Back position is the most comfortable (like 4 on a scale of 1-5) on the lower 1/2 -1/3. THE NOODLE: Ahhh now this thing is comfy. Very similar to pregnancy pillows. This thing makes it worthwhile but for the price. THE "BEAN": Good for an arm pillow for my side sleeping husband. He likes to just tuck it under his arm at night (top arm). Horrible for intended purpose. It's too shallow to work as intended. The hole: Great concept horrible execution. Granted you can use it as intended but I've never had success w/ it. Definitely lose circulation and get sore up and down my rib cage shoulder and ENTIRE arm if I fall asleep with my arm in there. Hence the 12 stories comment! Overall, not worth the waste.

For Shoulder and GERD Sufferers - REALLY THINK ABOUT IT!!!
I think that the biggest thing that I had to get past was the price. I sure am glad that my blinders were removed. I wouldn't recommend it for someone that doesn't sleep alone. I am 216lbs at 6ft tall and I have mine directly in the middle of my queen bed. Yes, they have different sizes but choose carefully. I live with chronic pain that is particularly in my low back and into my right buttock and hip after 6 back surgeries. With this device, I am once again able to sleep in my bed more often than I have in years. I have had to have both of my shoulders totally replaced and with this device, I am once again able to return to my bed and sleep on my side to relieve the butt and hip pain. I am able to make it to the old fetal position and pull the body pillow up between my legs which takes the pressure off my hips, back, and Thank God, my shoulders. There are so many ways that having this product has blessed my life that I could go on for a long time. Just to make it through the night without feeling as if I am drowning in GERD backup is certainly worth the price. I have to spend way too much time sleeping in my recliner and there is no way to rotate or take the pressure off without just getting up which is all too often extremely painful to do. I don't always get to sleep in my bed for a period more than five hours but I do get my best quality sleep doing so. I had actually reached the point where I began to wonder if a really good rest was ever going to happen again. My wife is currently in the nursing home which enables me to do this. If she were home, I would not be able to use this device without separate beds. We have tried just about every kind of bed on the market over a thirty year period. It just didn't work! We could not afford a bed that allowed each of to enjoy separate adjustments therefore making her miserable when I truly needed the GERD relief and impossible to comfort both of with me trying to get through the back pain. Make sure that you have enough bed to accommodate this unit. If the bed area is not plenty wide beneath you, you will easily find yourself in the floor without being prepared. Overall, I can not begin to say what a blessing this unit has been for me and I would only hope that you would experience the same.

Effective for Acid Reflux & other GI issues for periods of time while sleeping
This has provided effective relief from Acid reflux and other stomach issues. ( Recommended by my GI doctor) Although I'm a small framed person, I'm not able to comfortably thread by arm through the opening as shown for this product as that position cuts off my arm circulation. I am still able to sleep on my left side. I have found that it is important to watch the instructional video on installing the covers as it's the most feasible way to install them after washing.

Poorly designed, but I made it work
I have now had the large (orange stripe) pillow for a month. After a couple weeks I was ready to return the thing. If used as directed, it will create horrible pain at the shoulder, numbing your entire arm. Look at the ad photos. Under the pillow is where your shoulder should be. But most of us have a head that is a total of roughly 10"above the shoulder line. If you try to duplicate those images in the ad, you find yourself with your armpit right at the 90 degree dropoff into the hole. Put your arm out thru the lower so, and within a half hour your arm will be totally numb, your shoulder screaming in pain. As if you were hanging on a trapeze by your armpit. I tried angling the wedge upwards, downwards, whatever. Nothing worked. And that filler pillow pushes your arm and shoulder right to the edge of the hole. I bought vacuum plastic packaging (in order to return it, you have to suck all the air out of the pieces, otherwise they will not fit in the box they came in, as they were vacuum packed when shipped). Like Insaid, ready to return it. Then I thought about the design. What is wrong. Well, the hole is within two inches of the top of the wedge, so if you put this at the head of your bed, there is no natural head-shoulder alignment when sleeping on your side. So I took out the filler bean shaped pillow, put it above the left area of the wedge. Then took the body pillow and wrapped it across the area above the wedge then down the right side, outside of the wedge. Now the hole area is about 12" down from the top of the bed. I used a pillow which I placed on top of the body pillow on the right side, so that it was above the level of the wedge, for hugging. I used another pillow for between my knees. I had a small pillow...half the size of the bean center hole stuffer pillow, and put that in the right side of the hole. Across the top edge of the hole, and lying over the top of the body pillow, is my regular (king sized) pillow for my head. Now when I get into bed, my butt is at the bottom third of the wedge, my shoulder has plenty of room to fall into the hole, and allow my arm to go out under the wedge, and my head is on my pillow, which I pull down to cover a few inches of the hole. There is no stress on my armpit, no cutting off my blood circulation. The wedge is very comfortable and is of good firm material. I would recommend a complete redesign of the product with the opening for the shoulder a good ten to twelve inches down from the top edge, and the wedge should flatten out after the hole (otherwise your head is pushed upwards uncomfortably). The body noodle requires a pillow cover for me....the fuzzy velour type covering is just too hot. It actually requires two standard size body pillow covers because it is very long.

It's weird but it works
I got this pillow for acid reflux I was having at night. I will admit it looks very weird and some of the bad reviews are true. You can slide down at night, it can be uncomfortable on your shoulders if you don't get in the right position and you do have to adjust while sleeping especially if you are changing positions. All of these things are true... HOWEVER this pillow is very good. In order to make it good, you have to work with it. I have added extra pillows in the center for more support and less sliding. The wedge is the perfect angle for me. In fact, this pillow was a lifesaver when I was sick this past month. I wasn't choking on mucus at night. Acid reflux is virtually gone at night and I can watch TV in bed in a comfortable position. The body pillow is just heaven. It wraps around me at night and it feels like I'm in a cradle of softness. I love it!!!! But, just be aware that right out the box, it probably won't be comfortable. You have to work with it and customize it with pillow placement in order for it to help. Also... it is pretty big so it will take up most of your bed especially a queen or below. Have a wonderful day.

Great company - do not be afraid to try the MedCline system
My advice is do not be afraid to try the MedCline Acid Reflux System. Yes, it is expensive, but your health is worth it, and the purchase cost is likely less expensive than anti-relflux pills taken for a year. In my experience the company is very reliable and their customer service is exceptional. Amenity Health sets the bar really high when it comes to understanding and working to help their customers achieve the best result. Through dealing with the company it became obvious to me that they truly care about their customers and designing the best possible product - they listen and are quick to respond to questions. In my opinion this is a very high quality product. I am impressed by the construction details - for instance they include a zippered, water proof case INSIDE the removable, washable outer case (referring to the incline base not the body pillow). This inner case on the incline base would also serve as a dust mite and allergen protector. The design of the incline base is ingenious. Also, rather than trying to save money on shipping the company ships the MedCline Reflux System in a full size box so that the foam incline base is not compressed. (The body pillow is compressed but expands immediately upon opening its separate plastic bag.) I feel compelled to mention the excellent packaging because it was such a relief to not have to struggle with tightly compressed foam to get it out of the package, unlike products I have purchased from other companies. As for my experience with the product: Everyone is different in their body type and sleep comfort needs and as such this type of device may not work for everyone and would take some time to get used to sleeping on an incline but I do believe it's worth a try. In my case I need a medium size with a wider arm opening placed a little lower on the base. For reference my height is 5'7" but I have a short torso and weigh over 240#. Because of my short torso I felt like my left arm was positioned slightly above my shoulder, plus my upper arms are really thick so for me a tweak here and there would make it better.

Uncomfortable. Period.
Don't let the cozy pictures fool you, this is ridiculous. Yes, it's huge and if you have a partner, you'll need a California king to leave room for her/him. The arm hole is too small and did nothing but force my elbow precariously into the bed. Worst aspect is that the body hugger is way too thick and elevated my head so much that my neck was bent at an awful angle. Taking it out and getting it to unpoof takes awhile and begs for you to cut the pillow while trying to get the pillow out of the plastic. Good luck with the wedge pillow case. Directions look easy. In practice it's a nightmare. Worse, trying to return it is a nasty effort because it poofs two times larger than the box it came in could hold and finding something else to ship it in caused me to miss the return window and I'm stuck with it. Buy a less expensive wedge and body pillow and forget any idea that the holes in the pillow has.

Works but bothers my neck after some use. Still worth it!
It does the job, but also unfortunately the long pillow causes a kink in my neck. I'm thinking I might just get rid of some of the stuffing and see how that works.
