Took my time and made it look sexy AF
Ordered 4 rolls for my tiny compac 16. Took my time with making the templates perfect and it paid off. Instantly add the most beautiful lines on the boat and has been a huge hit in my sailing community. Plus my wife like to sit on the bow and the foam feels amazing. Be careful of the glue tach on the back. It is extremely sticky if you mess up you mess up big time so take your time measure twice cut once and always use a sharp razor blade to cut the material just in the four pieces I used seven razor blades to get the real fine cuts. I've had all my sailboat for almost a month. Well that doesn't sound a lot but I have sailed 26 of those 30 days mostly on night cruises in My back Bay. This thing has seen crazy abuse with salt water twisting kneeling rubbing it hasn't lost any thing and glue is still strong. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about this product and would recommend it to everyone and do. My only concern is the only way to scrape up a mistake or let's say an entire patch is to use massive amounts of acetone and a scraper this stuff is stuck for life lol which you can't fault them for that it also adds Superior grip protection I mistakenly put a semi-gloss code on the top deck and made everything slick as hell but ended up being the perfect Bond to make on the glue. Great Product
Initial impression is that I am really happy with this product. As you might expect, it's a bargain compared to a professional installation. Admittedly, the custom jobs are going to be nicer but in my case it wasn't worth paying 6x the price for something I wanted to try anyway. The color and texture has been very consistent over several purchases so there have been no issues matching sections. Ignore the water spots in the first two pictures. The foam cuts easily either with a utility knife or a pair of scissors. Application is easy and the adhesive is very sticky. Once applied is is very comfortable to walk on and makes a big difference in the comfort of your deck, particularly if you are barefoot. Some suggestions for applying: Let the sheet age and relax for a few days prior to using preferably in the sun where it can get hot. The foam will shrink a very small amount so you want that shrink out before you cut and apply. Also, a roller is a must. It was obvious that even after pressing and walking on it, rolling the foam still found areas that did not have good adhesion. Last thing to mention is more of a personal preference. I would suggest making templates and cutting sections as opposed to trying to cut this in place. It's a little more work but you will be happier with the final result. You can find examples on-line. Update: two full seasons and this looks as the good as the day I put it down. We’re in dry storage so it’s not in the sun all day, every day but it’s had two summers of use. Only issue was the adhesive started to dry out in a few places but it’s easy to fix with contact cement you can get at a big box store. I’d recommend waiting to do that until it’s needed since to do the entire job that way can be messy and unforgiving once it sets.

Hard work to install but great looking if you take the time to
Worked well on my sailboat. I had to use spray adhesive to get a good adhesion. you must use a roller to get out trapped air and make sure the edges are adhering well.

Expands and contracts
Surface was cleaned and finished with acetone. Easy to apply and adhesive stuck solid for a full season and through winter so far. Stuck to fiberglass and wood. This can get hot in the sun, and it does expand and contract. But real teak splinters, discolours, and looks like garbage much quicker, so take your pick. In fact we put this over some grayed out teak steps. We love this. It looks great, and super easy to install and clean.

great traction comfortable feel
I tested this for a year on my companionway stairs, with daily ins and outs, and it stood up with no noticeable wear and tear and the glue sticks really well. Then I put it in the cockpit and really like standing on it for long periods of time while at the wheel. So I went for it to replace my aging non-skid portions of the entire deck. It's traction is better than sandy non-skid, easier on your feet, and rear end when sitting up there, etc. Insulates a bit too which is nice in Kona Hawaii where sun everyday is the issue. The slight negative is that the width is not cut exactly on the strip of "wood" edge and you have to sacrifice a strip often enough. This is not a negative but the layout can eat up a lot of material in order to keep the pattern looking correct....but that's normal on a boat. Just be aware that you will need more than 30% plus probably. You'll get better coverage with the diamond pattern with typical sailboat layouts. but not much better as it turns out. I sanded a bevel on all the cut edges before sticking down - much easier than after.

NOT UV STABLE! Do not waste your time or money on this inferior product. Please do better Amazon!
I wanted to give this product some time in the sun before leaving a review, and I am behind on leaving my reviews…but I can now give first-hand honest feedback. I DO NOT recommend this product! I honestly don’t know how this product has so many “good” reviews, unless the buyers just don’t come back to leave a follow-up review after use. I purchased this boat flooring and used it in our Zodiac “Rib” boat at the lake during the summer, all while keeping the boat inside the boathouse when not in use. I too was excited at the transformation the flooring made. But, the material began to “bleed” color and break down by summer’s end. It leaves your feet looking muddy and stains whatever it gets on. I was excited to find it at such a good price, but it is NOT UV STABLE! I spent hours making patterns and installing this flooring, but it was all wasted on this product. I, and everyone else who experienced the same accelerated product degradation, should be offered a full refund. AMAZON…PLEASE DO A BETTER JOB SCREENING AND RESEARCHING WHICH PRODUCTS YOU ALLOW TO BE SOLD THROUGH YOUR STOREFRONT! Set higher “common sense” standards! Boat flooring that isn’t UV stable?? Really??Amazon is steadily becoming the online place to buy “cheap” stuff, and that is sad. You should have more stringent requirements. Let’s all try to do better and leave honest reviews like this to protect one another. This isn’t intended to be a rant, but rather a strong caution for you so you won’t waste your money on such a misrepresented product. Thanks for reading.

Deteriorating after 2 seasons of use
Loved it in the beginning. Easy install.. pretty sure we used glue and we stuck it to fiberglass and plywood. Three years later and it has stuck pretty well. There are a few unknown “burn” or melter marks that occurred from maybe metal or chemical? I’m really not sure but it kinda shrunk up. Gets pretty hot on your feet when in direct sun, but not unbearable.. actually better than I thought considering how dark it is. My main issue, is that in just 2 seasons, it is shedding. We got the dark grey, and I thought it was just due to color bleeding, but it’s actually deteriorating and leaving black residue EVERYWHERE! This occurred from day one but got significantly worse, which makes for very dirty upholstery when you have kids going in and out of the water. I can rinse water over my swim deck and it just runs off completely black. Looks beautiful when installed but not practical for general use. Overall I would not do this again, stick to carpet or a trusted brand of foam.

Better than expected.
This product turned out better than we had expected and we expected it to be great...it acfally turned out to be fantastic! We put this flooring in the main salon of our boat after removing the carpet. We did use indoor/outdoor carpet adhesive just in case the adhesive already on the flooring was not quite enough. It was easy to cut and apply. It is very, very important to make templates before cutting the flooring and to not be in a rush to finish the project. Do not skip this step. We have yet to add the separate trim (different company and product material) we purchased to trim the floor hatches and adjoining areas. We expect the flooring to last longer than suggested due to putting indoor outdoor area rugs on top of our new flooring. We will probably continue with this flooring throughout the rest of our boat. Love it!
