Lulu DecorCast Iron Decorative Dog Door Stopper with Rod Door Stop (with Rod)

I was a bit concerned when I first opened the box to check this out. Being a gift for a friend who has some physical limitations... This item is heavy! But the long rod makes it easier to move around, and it ended up working perfectly for her. I gave it a 4 star for maneuverability because of it's weight. It might be a bit too heavy for some young children, elderly or those that have some physical limitations. The tall rod allows one to not have to bend over to move it. I felt it was a bit on the expensive side for a door stop. I purchased it because it was a gift. I would not spend that on a door stop for myself. It is well made and it is cute sitting in her house for that reason I am giving this 5 stars.

This door stop is perfect for a door into a step down room that can’t use a regular door stop. It is well made and adorable, too. It even looks like our dog!

Heavy and tall enough to easily move with handle. Nice upgrade from small short one that was hard to see at night, easy to flip over with foot, and painful to stumble over. No more deep bending!

I very much like this door stop. My primary reason for purchasing was that my mother is getting ancient and sometimes has trouble bending over to move the current door stop into place (itself an antique cast iron fabric iron of the same weight). The dimensions worked out perfectly so that it can sit within inches of the door.This was needed on carpet at a rear porch door. The door is subject to slam from large air pressure changes when other doors are opened on a day with a front moving along. I am always worried of pets being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Having a stop with a handle helps make sure that it actually gets used.The look is such that it would also blend right in at a fireplace if it is not going to be used for an extended time.The weight and dimensions for this door stop are as advertised. Approx just short of 24" tall (fully assembled) and 8.8 lbs.I’m going to contact the company to see if more extension rods can be purchased. The individual rods are about 6.5” each. At 24”, it is easily reachable for my mother, but my father alternates between a cane or walker and another 6.5” would probably make it easier for him when using a walker (he is about 5’10”).Very pleased with this stop.Updated: I contacted Lulu Decor through their website and requested additional rods. They emailed back a PayPal email account to send a payment of $10 which covered 2 rods (approx 6.5in each) and shipping. Very satisfied.

So I didn’t purchase this for its intended use. I have a large dog who is obsessed with paper and loves getting in the garbage. He pushes up the lid with his nose. But now with this fun dog doorstop on top of the trash can he can’t open it. I like the handle too so I can sit it on the floor easily when I need to access the trash can.
