These are great for light toning of the shoulder, tricep, bicep, and upper back muscles. I use them at least five days a week while walking, and they can be used for both power walking arm pumping swings or tighter 90° angle short arm swings. I don't recommend them for typical arms-at-the-sides arm motions. They pull on the shoulder joints then. I also used 2 pound weights, but found that after extended walks, say, longer than 3 miles, they started to pull on my shoulders. I can use these for up to 5 miles without too much strain. The fabric seems to be moisture wicking, and the material within is both stable and a little flexible. I don't recommend squeezing the weights, as this puts pressure on the fingers and wrists. I pretend I'm holding a chicken's egg and keep my thumb and fingers relaxed so that I wouldn't crush the egg. These are by far the best weights I have ever used, and I feel sure they could be used at home for rehab exercises or gentle weightlifting. Well worth the price. You get what you pay for.

Discovering my new career addiction, these nuggets come great to me. I love these hand weights! These are exactly what I needed for my "Walk At Home" workout, So comfortable, easy to hold, feel great. Quick and easy to get on and off as needed for different parts of my workout.

These would be 5-Star but for the luge of me I cannot understand why they dont have these labeled as to how heavy they are. They would not register on their own on our scale, so I weighed myself and then again holding both weights - these weigh TWO POUND EACH. Another review says 1lb, but they are indeed 2lbs each as one will find after searching in the product description.

I use these weights all the time for figure skating, and they’re fantastic. The added resistance gives extra force to spins and turns, but also challenges your balance and technique in a good way. Pulse plié jacks on spread eagles are no joke with these—my heart rate spikes about 40%. Highly effective for building strength and control.

These are easy to hold with no worries about accidentally dropping them. Great if you have arthritis in your thumbs and gripping a barbell shaped hand weight is a challenge. My hand fits under the loop and I don’t have to grip tightly. 2 pounds isn’t heavy but is just enough to require a little more effort while doing an otherwise easy exercise.

I was "influenced" by a fitness that I watch/follow and so far, her suggestions never miss. These are awesome. I use them for fast-paced cardio kickboxing and even for pilates. They're really soft and easy to wrap in your fists. I am considering buying the heavier weights once I outgrow these weights.
