Oster BVST-EK18B Electric Kettle, 1.7-Liter, Black

My first one is still going after 7 years, but I had to get a new one because I moved.Pros:-the shape takes up less space on the counter-heats up quick and stays warm well-looks way better than others in price rangeCons:-the cord is really short. You either need to place it next to the outlet or get an extension cord.-people say that it spills easily, which it can, but it doesn't spill as long as you close the lid tightly after filling. I press it down firmly every time and haven't had a problem since.

Great product, but only lasted about a year and a half before it stopped working completely

This is a good product because Oster is a good brand. I have known about Oster since I was a toddler. This kettle was worth the price. We have been using this since almost two years now and it still works great. I am happy about the burn water protection feature because we are sure that no accident will take place.The black option is the better choice for me as I have seen a number of white appliances that have turned cream or brown within the space of two weeks. It is convenient and handy and easy to operate. I do recommend this to those who are contemplating this purchase.

These electric kettles are extremely popular in Europe, where people often use them for making coffee and tea, but I don't see them in the US much. But on a recent trip to Seattle we found that our Airbnb was stocked with this exact model, and it worked perfectly for making coffee in a press and for instant oatmeal. I was so impressed that I wrote down the model number and ordered it when we returned home, where I am now enjoying the ability to quickly and conveniently heat water to boiling.

I have been looking for years for a 100% black in color one, and until I ran across this one, didn't like the ones out there. They were either too small or had chrome accents. We didn't want a metal one because we didn't want to get burnt. We didn't want a glass one because we didn't want it to break. I had a white one from Oster for over 6 years and it got so dirty so quickly...which is why I was looking for a black one. The only complaint I have is that I wish the window was on both sides. Even though I am a righty, I often use my left hand for filling this and I can't see the fill line as easily. Otherwise a great product!

This kettle gives you hot water fast. It is easy to use and clean. Works every time.

faster than the micro wave and better for you as it is filtered at the spout, it is great for many uses, cooking jello,raman,cup of soup and it is not made to cook food- ONLY WATER.

Unfortunately, this only heated water to warm. Tried a few times. Returned. Thank you Amazon for the easy refund. Bought one made by a different company, and it works well.

Es un buen producto para calentar agua en muy poco tiempo, la desventaja es la incomodidad de realizar la limpieza por las estructuras metálicas que calientan el agua. En todo lo demás, es excelente.

Hierve el agua muy rápido, aunque me gustaría que los materiales fueran más resistentes.

El producto es de muy buena calidad, cumplió todas mis necesidades.
