Luna Premium Hypoallergenic Zippered Bed Bug Proof Mattress Encasement 13" Height - Queen Size - Made in The USA

When we recently purchased a new mattress, the store owner recommended a fully encased cover due to my husband's frequent work trips and therefore potential contact with bed bugs. Hopefully we don't have to deal with them, but if we ever do at least we won't have to get rid of our very comfortable mattress. Since we have been very happy with our regular Luna mattress protector (thin, not crinkly, doesn't make us sweat), we decided to stick with Luna. Our bed is in between the recommended heights but we ordered up and it fits great (it does make the sheets slide around a bit though, since it is slippery so they don't stay tucked in as nicely. I am assuming this would be common to any type of fully encased protector).

My previous zippered mattress encasement (I forget the brand) finally broke after 10 years, so I bought this one to replace it. While the Luna encasement seemed a little pricey, you get what you pay for. The Luna encasement was soo easy to put on. I have a queen size mattress, and the zipper is so long, it goes from one corner of the mattress to the corner diagonally oppose it, so there is no struggling to get the mattress in (unlike my old encasement). In fact, I did it by myself (I did need my husband's help to get the mattress off the bed, and back on the bed, but I was able to put the encasement on by myself).My only warning is that the Luna encasement is generous in size. It comes in many heights. I measured my mattress, and it is 12 inches high, so I ordered the 13-inch-high encasement. That one turned out to be about 2 inches too high, so I should have gotten the 11-inch-high encasement. Still, I am pretty happy with my purchase!

My allergist recommended encasing my mattresses due to a dust mite allergy. After MUCH research I decided to try the the Luna mattress and box spring encasements. First of all I was eager to buy a product made here in the US and second, the cover has proven to be an excellent product. I washed it in hot water and dried it on low - just like new! It was easy to put on (with some help with lifting the mattress) and fit well. It is soft and does not make any crinkly noise when sleeping on it. I have read that other covers can make you sweat but I have not noticed that at all with the LUNA covers.I have since purchased them for all the other beds in the house. I would recommend this product to anyone dealing with allergies.

With 2 people, it was super easy to put on the bed. I have a brand new queen size 14" novafoam mattress from costco. Slipped on like a charm and it's a perfect fit. When I received the sheets, I immediately went to the sink and ran water over the top of it. No water appeared to transfer to the other side. That's a win for me! You'll notice that the sheets make a crinkling noise as you pull it out of the packing. I was concerned that I would hear this while sleeping. Nope! You won't even notice that they're on the bed.I threw my encasement right into the wash with my regular sheets. Don't do that! Wash this puppy on its own. It ended up swallowing my sheets and preventing them from washing properly. It was a soapy wet annoyance. The fabulous waterproof quality of this product makes it difficult to wash with other things. Do yourself a favor---wash and dry it on it's own.

The manufacturer states my pillow top mattress is 13 inches in height, but I think they exaggerate. Because of this, there’s a little extra space in the mattress protector, but it’s really not problematic. This was actually extremely easy to apply, and stays put much better than expected. It does make the bottom of the mattress fairly slick, so I purchased a cheap non-slip rug pad to place between it and the box spring. I let the protector air out for a couple of days before I applied it, and there was absolutely no odor. It remains to be seen how well this will hold up after washing, but for the moment I’m very pleased.

Excellent product. I did the research and found this product which fits my "14 inch" memory foam mattress perfectly. Be sure you measure your mattress top only and do not include the box springs or platform on the bottom. The top has a nice feel and the workmanship is excellent. Take care putting this cover on your mattress. This is defiantly a two person job and it would be easy to put undue strain on the zipper if you try to install this yourself.Remember: This product is NOT a mattress topper rather a cover that surrounds the entire mattress.

I purchased this mattress cover over 2-years ago. I was prompted to do so because of the bed bug epidemic in New York and I serviced a population of people that had frequent infestations. I am happy to say that I never had any bed bugs, and in my mind I credit this protector for my being exempt. My only complaint is that this encasement is difficult for me to remove and put back on my Queen-size mattress by myself because of its shape and the placement of the zipper. But I also feel that the zipper is what makes it so effective. I would recommend this product to others.

I bought 2 Queen-size, one for the mattress and one for the box springs, 1 King-size for my sofa (which fit barely but completely), and 4 pillow covers — primarily as a stopgap measure to protect me until my date with the exterminator.Terrycloth upper surface adds thickness between blood and suckers, and plastic side and bottom surfaces were more durable than I'd expected. (I was able to push my covered sofa around without tearing the protector.)Now that the treatment's done, I'm leaving them on the pillows and the bed (with an electric mattress cover on top), and saving the sofa one, because I live in an apartment complex, and though this was my first experience, you never know...
