Good Premium Rice..
I bought Tamanishiki and the Kagayaki rice to compare them to the rice i buy in Japan, now that I'm in the states. Comparing the Tamanishiki to brands like botan calrose, nishiki, kokubo, I can tell you that The Tamanishiki rice is a BETTER rice hands down. Now the Kagayaki Rice was Much better than the Tamanishiki because the Kagayaki was more polished than the Tamanishiki. So in my opinion Kagayaki is the BEST - top of the line, however Kagayaki cost a little more than the Tamanishiki. Tamanishiki would definitely be my choice if i didn't want to spend the extra money. Hope this helps... anything is better than that what i was doing before, which was shipping my rice all the way from Japan. LOL!! yes this is how much I love Japanese rice. I've had them all.

I enjoy this rice
I enjoy this rice, to be sure. It still pales in comparison to rice I've eaten in Japan but it's still quite a bit better than other varieties of rice that I've eaten here in the States.

Introduced by my Hawaiian (Japanese) roommate, never went back
This is my favorite rice. My former roommate came from a Japanese family in Hawaii, and this was the brand she and her family always use, and I got hooked. I throw the rice in my zojirushi rice cooker after washing it, and it's perfect short grain rice every time. Perfect for spam musubi, rice and eggs and spam/Portugese sausage, or anything you might need rice for (unless you need long grain rice, in which case, don't use this). Its nice that the bag is resealable as well. This is probably weird and most of you won't find this helpful but I also like the texture of the bag.

Also the rice itself was not that great. I wish Amazon carried Kagayaki
So overpriced. I misread the weight-info, and it contains 2 small bags of rice. You can buy a whole bag of rice (20lb) for the same money at an Asian grocery store. Also the rice itself was not that great. I wish Amazon carried Kagayaki.

Great tasting rice!
The taste of this rice is delicious! Although it is a little pricey, it is well worth it. I was born and raised in Japan so I am very picky about the taste and texture of rice. I found it in a grocery store but lately, I was unable to find it. I was very happy to see that I can get it via Amazon.

Great Tasting Quality Rice
I love this rice. It goes great with any meal and I'm always quick to re-order when I start running low. Can't beat the convenience, price, and quality combination. Even after years or using this rice, I have never found any debris or discolored rice like with other brands. I hope amazon never stops carrying it.

Yummy rice
A friend recommended this rice so I tried it out. It's good. I'll probably try out the brown rice made by the same company. I don't have a really delicate palate, but I love the fact that I don't have to pick out all the 'bad' pieces like when I buy cheapo rice from the grocery store.
