Varathane Premium Fast Dry Antique White Wood Stain

Great Product. Don’t rush. Do not skip the process, specially the wiping after each application. This is a stain, not paint. Aside from deglossing/prepping, took me about 4 applications to achieve desired look. What a difference going from the dated orange wood to a more modern distressed look.

Perfect white wash look. I built a tall cabinet out of reclaimed wood and used this stain. Just the look I was after. Clear coated with satin poly. Looks amazing.

This is super easy to work with. It’s water based so easy clean up too. I would recommend using gloves anyway though. Adds white to the grain. If it’s a natural oak it will look a bit peachy when finished. I added a bit of light stain after and I really liked it.

Great for sealing outside wood. Good quality for the money. Very easy to apply but needs several coats.

We used this stain for our mobile butcher block island and it ended up being the perfect stain! We used mostly reclaimed pallet wood that varied a lot in color, so I was worried that would be noticeable through the stain, but it ended up being the right amount of coverage to still let some of the natural wood pattern through and make it look like a consistent color. Really easy application and it dried really fast. We painted the whole thing and assembled it in one night. You do have to stir it pretty frequently in order to keep the pigment evenly distributed throughout the can while you're using it, but that's to be expected.

It's very hard to find a white color like this in my area and it looks great. Perfect white for poplar to show the purple. It give a great modern look. I had fun stacking stain colors for a watercolor paint effect.

Super easy to use. If you want a darker more prominent white, apply heavier and leave on longer. I applied mine with a rag, let set for about 5 to 10 minutes, then wiped off the excess. Could not be easier. Apply poly to waterproof.

I like the effect of the wood grain showing but the paint thinner clean-up is not great.

It's not really doing what they saying. Painted 3 coats on clean wood surface and still not happy with the outcome
