Keep chickens? YOU NEED THESE!!
Our chicken run was ransacked by a mean mama fox this past spring, and we've had raccoons invade in the past too. We live in urban Denver. Yet we still see our fair share of wildlife. A coyote sauntered past my house a couple summers ago, middle of the day, like he was out for a nice stroll. Usually we keep our coop door locked up at night, but the chickens had--to their own detriment--pecked through the wire on their automatic coop door closer, so they were unprotected one night unbeknownst to us. But the attack also happened early morning, after the sun came up, is when some mama foxes like to hunt in the spring when they have kits to feed. So we lost a couple chickens. Then my husband remembered his parents, who have a legit farm in rural Colorado, had a coyote attack once, then they installed these predator eyes and never again lost another chicken. So we figured, what the heck, might as well beef up our security. We also have dogs who would usually bark off a predator, but sometimes we're out of town or who knows what. Better safe than sorry. These predator lights were easy to install, they work just as described, and we haven't had any 'coons or foxes since. If you keep chickens, in city or country, even if you haven't been attacked yet--GET SOME OF THESE! You need them. Trusty me. They're worth their weight in gold.

Keeps your chicken pen safe
I have used these for years- ever since a predator decimated my flock of chickens. These replaced some that I had for FOUR years - it's also been six years since a predator got any of my girls. Put simply, they work AND they last. I would not be without them and my girls are thankful too.

The skunk babies loved it!
I purchased this item to protect my chickens from nocturanal predators. I was having some territorial disputes with a large family of skunks, a couple of raccoons on their honeymoon ( no babies yet) and coyotes, although the latter mostly came to visit us during the daytime.I really hate killing animals, so after extensive research, I opted for these deterrent lights. I installed four of them according to instructions in strategic areas around my two chicken houses and made sure that they worked. They did. Scary predator eyes blinked on and off. Expecting our unwelcome visitors to pack their little suitcases and move to a more hospitable location, I settled down for a good night’s rest. The next morning, I found Clementine’s feathers in the chicken area, along with several egg shells. No sign of Clementine. The next night, I stayed awake and watched from my second story porch. Before long, here came the skunk family. Two of the very adorable little skunks noticed the predator eyes and sat down in front of them and began to chatter. They were so excited to meet a new friend!Clearly, I misunderstood the product description. Apparently, these devices are designed to make lonely nighttime predators feel more at home.Needless to say, they did not work to deter anyone or anything. This product was a total waste of money!I ended up live-trapping every single critter one by one and releasing them a few miles away in the woods.Oh, apparently I am required to select a star rating, and since 0 stars, or negative one star is not an option, I gave this product one star... but truthfully, that is one star too many.

seems very well made, stainless steel not plastic.
seems very well made, stainless steel is used instead of plastic.I added some clear caulking around the LEDs and solar panel, just in case... we get heavy fog year round every morning.it is designed to be mounted on a wall or a post. mounting on a chainlink fence required some thought... I fastened each one of the lights to a small piece of plywood using the provided screws, then put another screw in the center of the wood and hang it using a short piece of wire, letting it dangle a bit away from the fence. I believe it was worth the extra effort to get the stainless steel over the plastic ones with the plastic loop on top... (the wood will eventually rot, meanwhile, I'll be looking for a more permanent hanging solution, maybe a piece of plastic?)I would like to make a product improvement suggestion. I believe that it would be much better to make the light flash more randomly. for example, slow blinks then a few fast flashes, then off for a short while, then a few fast flashes, then steady on for a short while, etc. maybe even add fading in and out?

I Love Them! BUT....
These solar predator lights work great! I was having a severe problem with skunks (I caught two skunks in two days). They arrived on time and packaged well, worked right out of the box. I have been using them for over a month and have had NO predator problems (they don't work on mice), the blinking red lights are bright, they come on at dusk, stay on all night long, and can be seen from quite a distance (well over 100 feet). I put one on each side of the chicken coop. The only issue I did have with them is that they are hard to set up as there are two holes on the back for hanging and it was hard to get them even. This product would be better if there were a lip at the top with two screw holes for easy hanging. Very good product and I will definitely buy again.

Nice Metal Construction And Bright RED Flashing Lights
Bought six of these on Prime Day. Los Angeles has many urban coyotes and I have two outside feral cats that I want to protect. I've used similar predator lights for several years and they do seem to be effective. One of my neighbors thought they were security lights which is an added bonus. One thing to consider is these need to be mounted using the holes on the base. No big deal but I've had two similar ones stolen from the top of my cinder block wall. So tack them down if you don't want them taken. And there is no motion on these - they just flash constantly at night. The solar panels charge them very effectively. Very good value and I'm happy with my purchase.
