I frequently buy pill spitters hoping to find one that stands out from the somewhat mediocre norm. This one is pretty nice. Functionally it as as good as many others . . . but it does not stad out from the pack. The low-key search continues.

They come in handy for splitting pills most times they cut the pills perfectly so you don't have a bunch of crumbs to some of the pills that I take are rather small.

Upon arrival I used this cutter, which looked good, but it had a hard time cutting. However, the catcher seemed to work well.

My dog has taken a medicine since we adopted him. We used to get it from a local pharmacy which has now closed. We now have to order the med from an online pharmacy but the problem is, the med only comes in a higher dosage so I need to cut the pills. I tried to do it with a knife but it never cut evenly and it made a mess half the time. I would end up crumbling it. So frustrating. I tried to use a pill cutter that we had in the house but it didn’t seem to work for smaller pills so I tried this one hoping for success… and it works! My dogs pills aren’t tiny but they are smaller and they have a debossed line so it’s pretty easy to line up and cut where needed. It did take me a few tries to get the hang of it. Because these pills are not super hard, I didn’t have to push down so hard. I finally got the hang of it and got through his fresh new bottle of meds and cut them all. Now I don’t have to worry about smashing them with a knife or remembering at the last minute when I’m in a rush. There are two in the package which is nice because I can also send one along in his “overnight” bag when he goes to stay at the doggie hotel (we don’t say kennel haha). So they are able to cut his pills if they need to as well! So convenient and easy to use!

I found it cuts well and does a good job of not spreading pill fragments everywhere, thanks to its "closed bottom" design. Good product for the price! Beware - if you look closely, many other pill cutters actually have open slots that will splatter pill dust on your table, an inconvenience.
