Alto sachs metal mouthpiece
I'm a seventy three year old male purchased a couple of sax. Just got in my new metal , mouthpiece and a plastic covered cane reed... Never touched the saxophone before in my life until 4 and a 1/2 weeks ago. My opinion is this mouthpiece is a alto number #6 and it is wonderful. Sound quality is fairly good. For unpracticed, as I am.... Highly recommended.

Good deal for $60
You can get that bright, slightly dirty sound with this. I would have given five stars if the intonation was better - it gets flat up around C to C# in both the middle and upper range. You have to lip it up. I can't do altissimo, but I suspect someone with the skill could do it with this piece (judging from my occasional unintended squeals). You can play soft and sweet too. A little weak in the very top range, but strong elsewhere. The reed bed and exterior are smooth and polished. The baffle and chamber are not polished (wish they were). I'd recommend it to someone with limited funds who wants to experiment with medium-high baffle metal piece, or wants to have one in the bag to use occasionally. It's usable on a gig if you're willing to work a little harder to stay in pitch. Vandoren Blue Box 2.5 in the video; a 2 also works; a 3 is too much work!

For a sub $60 metal mouthpiece, I can't find anything else to recommend new.
I'm going to start off this review by saying this mouthpiece is not for beginners. With a relatively large tip opening, and a low baffle (the ceiling of the piece), this mouthpiece needs a little bit of skill to master. With that being said, once mastered, this piece can be mistaken for a piece two or even three times the price. As lead alto in a jazz environment I can say this piece works great for cutting through even the loudest of 'bones and trumpets. With a lot of mouthpieces I use; Vandoren V16 (alto), Vandoren Jumbo Java (alto), D'Addario select jazz (tenor), and otto link super tone master (tenor), this piece plays nearly as good, if not as good as these big name pieces. With all of this praise, however, one has to ask what the downs are to an inexpensive metal mouthpiece. Well there aren't many if I'm completely honest. The receiving end of the piece, the part one slides onto the cork, is quite tight, but that isn't something a little bit of cork grease cant resolve. The piece also has a bit of an intonation issue, but again, this is a cheap mouthpiece... I'm having to nit pick here. I've also had some trouble finding a good reed for it. At the moment Vandoren Blue Box 2.5s are sealing great and I'm loving the sound this mouthpiece produces.

No mouth opening Specifications
There are no specifications (aperture size) I've purchased 2 already. I need the #5 cause #6 was no good for me.I own a tenor #7 that I love. I would like to trade if I could and give the alto another chance.
