I bought this kit to finish sanding some nooks and crannies on a dresser that my big sander couldn't get. The pieces kept disintegrating instantly?

If you have a variable speed dremel use a slower speed. I used it at a medium to slow setting. Also don't force it in the piece but use a moderate pressure.
