I bought this drive for one reason: I needed to replace a failed hard drive in a low-end network server's RAID, and this drive is identical to the still working drive (as well as to the one that failed). Predictably enough, the drive works well, and the server's performance is back to normal. Given the age of the server, I'd say that the performance is about as good as it can be, but that has more to do with the RAID controller than the drives attached to it.

This drive was made in December 2007! It may be new, but I'll bet it doesn't have a warranty.

These have worked well in our NAS systems. With the warranty originally at 5 years, the thing will most likely die before then, getting you a replacement in time.

needs negative stars it's so horrible. crashed. replaced. crashed. replaced. I have had about 2 dozen of these fail in 10 computers.

We have this running in a dell poweredge 2900. There are a total of 5 drives running RAID 10 with a hot spare. Has been working great so far.
