Girlfriend's review: Lysine is one of the 9 Essential Amino Acids required for bodily function related to proteins. Lysine specifically, is used for lip regeneration. I've been using Lysine for cold sores since my grandma kissed me as a baby. Lysine is the most effective cold sore combatant I've found, period. Lysine brings pain relief, and reduces symptoms. This product is room temperature, and comes out pretty thick. If you apply Lysine when you first start to feel an inkling of an outbreak, 9 times out of 10 you won't have an outbreak. If you apply it during an outbreak, it'll be slow healing. In other words, the speed at which you feel relief is dependent on how fast you can get lysine on your face, and in your body, (highly recommend buying some Lysine in pill form.) If you're slow to put lysine on, it'll be slow to work it's magic. If you apply Lysine fast, it'll work it's magic so fast you likely won't have a cold sore at all. Oh, and Lysine is pretty nice just for dealing with ordinary cracked dry lips. Lip regeneration! Chemistry! Funky chains of carbon, nitrogen, hydrogen, and oxygen baby! ;)

Works great!!! As soon as I see a tiny bump I smear this stuff on! It's gone by the end of the day. Never forming a blister. The times I didn't catch it before a small blister it takes it away by day two and never forming into a full blown sore. When I wake up with a full sore, I use this and it usually goes away, full cycle, in a week or less. If I feel off like I'm going to get one, I go to sleep with it and wake up fine.

Works well for what it is intended to do. A little bit goes a long way. Definitely makes a difference in healing time and pain relief.

I've tried so many remedies, and this is the first time something actually works. I also take 3,000 mg of lysine during a breakout, but between the two, the sore is gone in less than a week.

I have tried many different kinds of “cold sore” treatments, and none work as well as Lysine. Lysine cures cold sores in as little as 3 days. Just unbelievable. Heading into the winter months I will not be without several in multiple places. My car, bathroom, and my handbag. Great value for the money and no icky taste like most of them have. I used this product for my most recent cold sore flare up and it was the mildest cold sore that lasted the shortest ever on me. I felt the tingle at night right before going to sleep, did nothing, the small sore came out the next morning. I put on hydrocolloid patch(pimple patch) on that morning. By the afternoon I felt it getting bigger so I ordered this product to be delivered by the next morning. I immediately put this ointment on when I received it in the morning which is the second morning of my cold sore. From then on this ointment replaced my hydrocolloid patch. On day three the sore scabbed a little, without enlarging, swelling, puss and throbbing. I was really impressed. On day four which is today, just a tiny scab left and feels like nothing. I’ll never be without this product!!!

I've tried several cold sore products over the years, and this is one of my favorites. It's easy to use, helps soothe irritation, and seems to reduce healing time when applied early. Definitely worth keeping on hand.

I used to constantly get fever blisters all year round. They would come on if I was stressed, sick, sunburned, if my immune system was down, and what felt like anytime they wanted to.
