I discovered Judy Grahn's art in the summer of 1984 when she read from Another Mother Tongue at the Sisterhood bookstore in Westwood. I knew i was homosexual, but I didn't know I was a lesbian. Young women who are coming of age now do not find the network of the women's bookstore, the poetry reading, the women's publishing house, the festivals. The language they use is missing what we had just 30 years ago, and even then we thought we were inventing ourselves from the broken words of lost ancestors.We are a people who named ourselves after a poet and her mythical island. Product arrived as I expected and the condition was excellent, I can't comment regarding the book or the material it covers, but everything else about this experience was perfect.
