Badger Air-Brush Co. 51-042 QD Coupler,Brass

Bought this connector with the Badger 105 airbrush and 10 foot Badger braided hose. Works great to disconnect the airbrush for cleaning in the sink, my wife airbrushes cakes and edible things. I did use a dot of loc-tite on the threads to keep everything together nice for the long term. I like that the connector simply pushes together and pull the collar back to disconnect, seals perfect with no leaks and swivels smoothly. The connector and nipple is very small so it does not get in the way when painting.

This is something every Badger airbrush user should have- a quick disconnect for your airbrush- minimize any possible wear and tear on the threads of your airbrush with a convenient quick disconnect. Great for multiple airbrush setups, as well as single setups. no air leaks, solid construction. I have this installed on my Badger Patriot 105. As with any airbrush connection (hose->compressor, airbrush->hose, etc) I'd recommend using PTFE tape (also called teflon tape or pipe tape) on the threads to ensure an airtight no-leaks fit.

This quick disconnect is an essential accessory for your Badger airbrush. Allows you to quickly remove the airbrush from your air supply. One thing that isn’t so apparent from the product photo is that there is a 1/8” to Badger adapter on the femal disconnect. This means you could remove it and use any standard 1/8” airbrush hose and not a Badger specific one. If I had known that I would purchased a generic hose, but not a large deal. I also like that they make male connectors for other brands of airbrush. I can use my Paasche airbrush, with purchased adapter, without having to change air supply hoses. A well thought out product!

Works great and was easy to install. Beware that you may not get what is shown in the picture. The one I did not come with the reducer. Just be ready to have to buy one.

I wonder why I waited so long to get this, but now I have two couplers and two extra quick disconnect plugs for my other brushes. You should have a "Badger" air hose to prevent leakage. I have other air hoses for Iwata air brushes with adapters for the Badger brushes and I find that the plug leaks. I can leave the hoses connected to my compressor (three gallon tank) without any leaks. That way I do not have to turn off the compressor and start up filling the tank, it's ready to go at a moments notice. It does what it's designed to do and does it well.

There's nothing to dislike about this fitting set. For those who are inexperienced with air hoses (just as with plumbing, etc.), snag up a pair of teflon tape rolls (plumbing tape, which can be acquired for dirt cheap), wrap the male-end threads (the ones on your airbrush and on the fitting which attaches to the hose, also the threads on the compressor), and THAN thread everything together. On a side note, Badger designed this set to work with not only their own hoses, but pretty well every other also. The Badger thread piece, which normally screws into the hose, can be unscrewed so that the fitting can fit other hose sizes. I use mine with a Master compressor and hose, as well as not only this Badger QD for my Patriot 105, but also a Badger QD for Paasche and some Master QD fittings as well. Having taken the noted steps, I've absolutely zero problems and just plain love this thing. I'll gladly buy more of the fittings (at least the QD for the brushes anyway) when I get my other Badger brushes, too. Hands-down, though, grade-a product right here, and well worth the $.

Installation is a breeze, and this QD operates smoothly, with one hand. The only negative is that it only comes with one "nipple". Additional nipples are needed for each airbrush. It would have been nice to have this unit bundled with 2 or more nipples (which are available separately).

This quick connect is perfect ,just what I needed for switching from one Airbrush to the next. Remember this only good for Badger only. I know it's not Cheap it's worth it in the long run
