Great product
This was a good bye still working well, does make a little noise and takes a little time to load in but it is almost full so I can expect that was worth the money plus easy setup and installation.

A storage vault of note
So easy, plugged into power, plugged into ish 3.2 and instantly had almost 12tb of space.A roomy vault to handle anything. The usb b and c ports in the front are brilliant for charging and provide extra ports so you don’t lose any when plugging it into your pc.It isn’t small, as wide as my tower but it sits on top of said tower and I have a stand for my headset atop that. All in all, very happy with this Seagate drive.Used with Windows 11 pro.

Very, VERY loud!
When booting up it's incredibly loud! It also takes a long time to boot... about 20 seconds. It has 14.5GB usable space from 16GB advertised which is normal for external drives. Get anywhere from 50MB/s - 150MB/s when copying files to and from the drive. The extra USB port on the front is a nice touch. Overall it's a decent external drive even with the racket it makes!

DO NOT BUY.
I have tried to get this to work on 6 different PC's. 3 with Windows 10, 3 with Windows 11. In 2 cases I had to reinstall the Windows OS from scratch to get it to work - luckily, I had the ability to do that and had the time to reinstall all the applications again - 6 hours each time. Time I'll never get back. The software - where do I start?First problem - you download it from the Seagate site and then it wants to perform an update - immediately. But, while I can access the Internet for email, web browsing, YouTube & Netflix - the Seagate One Touch Hub software cannot reach the Internet (and this is the latest version on their website)!!!Second problem: even when I got it to work on 3 machines, driver updates, not detecting correctly. Seagate - good plug & play came in with Windows XP. Shouldn't have problems with Windows 10 or 11!!Had several weeks of dealing with support people. To be fair, they are supportive and try to help but having to reinstall Windows because the software is crap, leaves a lot to be desired. Overall a very bad experience.I only need this to act as a backup drive. Thank goodness it doesn't have to anything complicated, like be a media server drive. I haven't had problems like this in over 10 years.DO NOT BUY.Eventually after several months Seagate replaced the drive entirely. It still has issues in jamming up the IP channels and has to be disconnected regularly when using the PC normally.I would not buy this product again, and instead bought extra 16TB internal hard drives as backup drives for data.

A lot of storage in an affordable package.
Bought 2 x 16tb to replace 3 year old seagate backup plus drives which had performed flawlessly for 3 years and over 20,000 power on hours, but as backup plus drives are 'end of life', replaced with one touch hub drives. These came formatted as exFAT which caused a problem as I leave the drives attached and this prevented my somewhat ageing Gigabyte Z77 based pc from booting, even with the boot from usb option disabled in BIOS. Reformatting the drives to NTFS solved this problem. The drive enclosuresare a little larger than the backup plus and appear better ventilated evidenced by the new drives running some 7 to 8 degrees C cooler than the backup plus drives according to CrystalDiskInfo which also showed the HDD serial numbers which the Seagate support site identifies as Seagate Exos X16 Enterprise drives running at 7200 rpm. I transferred files in chunks of about 500gb and with a little help with cooling provided by a couple of small usb fans, the drive temperatures never exceeded 44 deg C.Overall they perform as well, if not slightly better than the drives they replaced and as to longevity, only time will tell.

12TB is Noisy and Slow
12TB VersionReally disappointed, as I have been using Seagate for over 10 years and have always been very happy with them.First thing you notice is that while it has a USB C connection on the front, how it connects to the computer at the rear is through USB 3. No option of different cable in the box etc… which means you have use a dongle/adapter if you are going to a USB C computer, which is just unnecessary in this age. Then you you notice how noisy it is, far more noisy than any of my older drives, even if it’s idle, it will start making noises. This is not even a smooth swirling, fan like noise, you can actually hear the head scraping of the disk and vibrating the desk, like an old computer from the 90’s.And it’s slow, slower than my older drives. This is just after a few days use, from what I’ve read in other reviews, it looks like the speed will further degrade over time.Pains me to say to avoid Seagate as they have been fantastic up until now for me but this drive, I can’t recommend it.

Ignore the USB-C, it ain't live
I purchased this disk, mostly because it had a USB-C connector. Big mistake, it has one, but it doesn't work. The disk doesn't power on until something is connected to the USB-A port. Other than that, run of the mill external USB disk, large, slow, plenty of space. Unremarkable.
