Best boot ever used
Very tight at the top of your foot. Took 3 days to break in. The meta tarsol is great for my job, but some pain endured during breakin. My recommendation is to soak boot in water with them on. I wear a size 10 shoe but buy an 8d because of my experience with these type of boots. I was questioning the size at first bit but now it fits perfect. The quality is very good.Pair #2 Got a little over a year off last pair. I use a boot dryer. I ordered them 1/2 size bigger and bam, what a difference. They’re immediately comfortable. The only reason I bought this second pair is becausen the heal section was ripped out after using it for a year. I’m glad I did go bigger, I’m sure they’ll get loose quicker now but I was dreading the long break in I had on the last pair. 8.5d now. Happy with these & feel like I will always buy these, what a great boot. Covers all safety aspects I need at work. Again, I believe the boot dryer is a big deal. I’m a heavy equipment mechanic. I stand on concrete min 12hrs a day. I’ve purchased all kinds of boots. $600-$100. These are the best boot for my body, back doesn’t hurt, feet don’t hurt, good traction and control.

Best Pair of Metatarsal Boots I've Ever Owned
Year 3 Update:I've now owned these boots for three years. I still love them. They haven't worn out. I like them as much now as I did when I originally wrote this review two years ago. Attached is a photo of them after three years of almost daily use around town, at the factory, or in the yard.Original Review:I work at a factory that requires the use of Metatarsal shoes for protection. Over the last decade, I've worn dozens of different pairs of boots and shoes--slip-ons, zip-ups, and lace-ups--from different manufacturers. These are, without exception, the most comfortable pair I've ever owned. I've had them for a year now and they've held up wonderfully to heavy use both at work and around town--they're so comfortable that I don't change out of them when I leave work, and regularly wear them on the weekends (i.e. when metatarsal foot protection isn't needed--I just like the way they look and feel). Unlike most metatarsal boots, they don't have a huge unsightly bulge that looks ridiculous outside of an industrial setting. They look just like what you see in the amazon photos. If/when they ever wear out, I intend to buy the exact same pair of boots again.

Scuffed
I was a little upset when I opened the box and saw the left side of the right boot was super beat up but overall they fit nice and are very comfortable

Good boot
I bought this boot when our company implemented Metguard requirements. Before this I always wore an irish setter 6" lace up steel toe boot. It's definitely a different feel than a lace up boot but I like them. The first 2 days my feet were sore, day 3 was better and day 4 was terrible. The pain was less each day after that, i'm on day 10 of wearing them and my feet are back to normal. Comfortable boot, stylish, and the right price for a metguard. I would buy them again.

BUY THIS BOOT
Don't waste your time on other metatarsal boots. Buy this boot. I've worn the same pair for 3 years of almost weekly 7 day work weeks inside of a steel mill and they are just now wearing out. The leather is tearing at the heel from taking them off and the sole is separating from the boot. These boots have been soaked in hydraulic fluid, riddled with steel grindings, exposed to heat and cold, and held up and then some. I've worn them hunting, fishing, and just about any other activity I needed boots for. These boots will last. They are amazingly comfortable and my feet don't sweat too much in them. Lightweight, roomy, and well cushioned. Trying desperately to find another pair in my size as they all seem out of stock right now. EE wearers these are definitely extra wide boots. I can't say enough good things about these boots and after the life this pair just had, I can't imagine how long they'd hold up in a less abusive environment. Will not buy any other boot for work again

Weird fit
Size 13 normally but they were huge, heel came out when walking. Ordered a 12 because there are no half sizes, and it was too small. Returned for a different brand

A working mans boot
This was a gift for my farming son who LIVES in his boots. he has falling arches, big feet and wide feet. It is hard to get him a shoe, let along a boot that is comfortable. That being said, this is a great product for him. The boot is true to size and width. there is plenty of arch support and comfort in the wear. He has lived in these for several months now and they hold up, last, comfortable, look great and keep his feet protected.

don't bother buying
Took a while to get use to the met guard pressing down on top of foot. After a couple of days boots fit well and got use to met guard.update... these have turned into the worst boot I have ever bought.within 3 months of getting these they started coming apart at the seams. After getting them fixed twice the leather has started to rip to the point that they can't be repaired. in 30 years of wearing work boots these are the worst I've ever had

Waste of money
I wore these boots to work for 4 days and the soles started tearing off the boot. I contacted Ariat 2 weeks ago and still have not received any email regarding the issue.
