Worked as I hoped!
I used this for cloning my 256 GB stock SSD drive to a new 2 TB SSD for my Steam Deck. The enclosure got incredibly hot. Do not touch it til it cools down. I already expected it to get hot so it was not a surprise, because lots of data being transferred and no fan. It did the job excellently. Now it's the home of my old Stock drive and I needed to reclone the stock image due to my own mistake, and it was fast. I can't vouch for the longevity of the device and only for a quick small external drive that works for a cloning, I'd recommend this.

NVME enclosure
Feels a little cheap, holds in the Nvme with a piece of rubber resembling a screw, but does its job.

Easy install
Installation was really easy per the steps listed on the Amazon ad. The instructions which came with the enclosure were useless (print was way to small). Packaging was good but this 3/4" x 2 3/4" aluminum strip and double-sided tape was in the box but no instructions on what to do with it. I'm extremely mechanically inclined but couldn't figure out where it went, thought it may be some sort of thermal sink but the only possible place it could fit would interfere with the "press to open" operation. I used the old M.2 2230 256GB SSD from my Surface Pro 8 when I upgraded the memory to 512GB. My Surface Pro 8 recognized the new "mass storage device" and formatted it with no problems. Tested the operation by moving a 2.2GB video file and it was fast!

Would have been great if it worked
I ordered and it arrived quickly. Kudos to Amazon again for speedy delivery. But the box showed signs of damage and wear. Like a corner of the box had been exposed to a liquid. The device was in a plastic zip top bag that looked like it had been used for some other purpose. Another user here posted pictures of his and it appears to have come in an opaque bag that seal with an adhesive. I took the device out of the box and inserted my m.2 2230 256GB drive. I assembled the case and plugged it in to my Surface Pro 8. The Surface would recognize it briefly but then would report that the USB device I inserted malfunctioned. I tried two other computers to no avail. Each one would recognize it for a few seconds and then the drive would disappear from File Explorer. This is obviously a defective product and judging from the packaging it had been returned before and sent back out to me. I give it 1 star for not functioning and if I could give it negative stars for the company sending a defective product back out I would.

These work great and are quite fast - true USB 3.2 speeds!
These work great to make external USB 3.2 drives with the old NVME SSDs I took out of my laptop when I updated it's NVME drive to a larger drive. I'm quite happy with these!
