This product is amazing!!!
For my 18th anniversary, I found our old wedding video with some people commenting and wishing us well. One of the comments was from my wife's father, who had passed away. This device allowed me to put the video into a format where she could add it to her phone, and she keeps that memory with her all the time. Best gift for our anniversary, and it was made possible by this device.

Requires Patience
Got this unit after trying another cheaper capture device. I was actually able to capture and convert some old 8mm tapes to digital. That said, the USB drive that comes with is a tight fit into my computers USB port. The buttons aren't labeled in a fashion that a normal person can see/read without a magnifying glass. Also seems like you need to exit the TVin function before removing the USB drive or the video files end up disappearing into the ether. Needless to say frustrating after capturing 4 hours worth of video and having to recapture again. It works, but has some nuances and requires some patience.

Worked for awhile
I was originally impressed with this converter, and it did work for several days. However, for some reason it began interrupting the conversion process with a box and a message that stated that I needed to select a box that said I wanted to charge and play, charge, or charge and data. I tried initially to select the charge and play option, as that is the one that seemed to work for the conversion process. However, as the conversion was working, the box would appear again with the charge and data option selected. Ignoring it only resulted in an abort of the process. Very frustrating. I returned the device to Amazon.

Expected more at the price point
The device has one fatal flaw and that is the inability to tell when the device is in record mode. There seems to be some sort of trick to making it record and i have only been successful 2 times out of ten. The documentation is not helpful either. It describes a recording counter that should be showing on screen that does not actually appear, even in those 2 lucky instances when it was actually in record mode. So a device that is supposed to allow you to record old VHS that does not actually work to record, is useless in my book.

Not worth it at 15fps
While it has awesome features like being battery powered, USB-C equipped and has a micro SD slot, it comes at cost of an acceptable frame rate. 15 fps is great if you want your footage to like cheap CCTV.

Difficult to capture video. Low/distorted video capture
Found this device to be non-intuitive. Difficult to capture video. Input jack needed to adjusted to be able to capture a video/audio feed. Picture quality was distorted. Device did not recognize other storage USB.
