My Astro headset cable broke — will this replacement work with my A40?

Yes, this 2M replacement cable is compatible with Astro A10, A30 and A40 headsets, restoring audio and microphone function when the original cable is damaged or lost.

Can I plug this into a PS5 or Xbox controller directly?

Yes, the cable connects to the 3.5mm jack on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One controllers, so it works without a mixamp for standard chat and game audio.

Does the inline volume control actually work on console?

Yes, the inline volume wheel adjusts headset volume when connected to a controller's 3.5mm port, letting you set level without opening the console's audio menu.

Is 2 metres long enough for couch gaming?

The 2M (6.5ft) length reaches comfortably from a controller in your hands to the headset, which is the relevant distance since the cable plugs into the controller rather than the console.

Will the black cable tangle the way the original did?

Store the cable loosely coiled rather than wrapped tightly around the headset. Tight wrapping is the main cause of memory kinks and stress at the connector ends.
