Q: is the fatboy junior suitable for an 8 year old?

Yes, I would think so. It's going to be big, but he will grow into it! It will conform around him and should be a great place to relax, read, or just chill. It also works well as a prop up to lay on the floor.

Q: Is this the stone wash or nylon version?

It is the nylon version. The students (grades 6-12) love it.

Q: Would this size be suitable for students 6th to 8th grade?

My 2nd grader of average height is still able to sit on this comfortably, but my best guess is that he will grow out of it by 5th grade and it would be too small. Thus, I don't think it has enough fill for a 6th or 8th grader, but this is just my best guess. Good luck!

Q: What is the difference between version 1 and version 2?

Version 2 has been manufactured without flame retardant chemicals and foam bead filling does not contain flame retardant chemicals.
