Can this wheel be unbolted and turned through 90° so it can support a sliding door?

it looks as though its possible to turn at an angle but I wouldn't advise trying it. there is a split pin through the bottom of the upright shaft that can be straightened and pulled out but the amount of pressure required to depress the spring to remove and turn the shaft then replace it is such that the moment the shaft is pulled out the with nothing to hold the spring in place it would fly about 30/40 feet through the air and I wouldn't like to be standing in it's path.

My Gate is low to the ground, would the wheel rub or catch against the gate? The wheel looks like it sticks out the same distance as the frame above

No the wheel doesn't swing round when the gate is opened/closed so doesn't catch on anything

Works very well, strong and flexible

Bought it for a homemade gate. The span is 4.5m and weighs around 100kg. Mounted it 3/4 of the span and have no problems with it. Rolls well and with a little grease, there is no squeeking.

Sturdy jockey wheel, unfortunately I have returned it as they was not enough room on the gate where it needed to be fitted due to having a gate drop bolt
