I got the pricey pad and insurance. Still concerned- looked at all the 'cool' tough industrial cases.But after two years of seeing my toddler nephews bash the heck out of their Ipads, all through the house, car trips, camping, I went with childproof, over 'ordinary adult protected.This is the real deal, and it's fun, the colors are excellent too.It is big, I can easily gei tin my knapsack, I drag it on trips.But with the padded edges and handle / stand, it might not fit in standard 'electronics knapsack' pouches.Buthe with a layer of safety glass and this super-safe kid case, I just stick it in my regular knapsack and it's fine.Phenomenal protection, great colors, and doesn't look as silly as having to repair a pad that costs a dead mint.:).

While the case does fit snugly it does not hold in the the Apple Pencil at all. Returned.
