good basic unit for the price.

Meh... I don't want to knock it too much because I didn't expect much, it does what it says, it was nice and cheap but I now wish I'd spent a little more and gotten a real fish finder. I just wanted it for depth for crabbing on my 16' aluminum boat and it does that accurately at fair speed but I have stopped using it because it's just too hard to read and drive at the same time. The depth reading on the screen is tiny up in the top right corner and can't be adjusted. If it could display just depth on the whole screen I'd be happier with it. I also seems to go through batteries very quickly. I've used it less 6 hours on fresh batteries and it's totally dead now.I mounted it on the transom and it was pretty easy and came with everything.I guess depending on what you're using it for it could be useful on maybe a kayak, canoe or tubing. But on a boat I'd suggest you spend a little more and get something better.

Great depth finder and good battery life. Doesn't seem to show fish that well. I'll update my review as I keep using it. Taken it out about 7 times so far on my kayak.

I'm going to give this unit the benefit of the doubt for now and assume that I got a bad one. It worked fine on the first outing but the second time I used it the buttons became unresponsive. So I couldn't change settings or even turn it off. That being said for the price I was very impressed. It was accurate on depths and seemed to be able to tell the difference between a hard and soft bottom. I am going send this one back and get a replacement. If it doesn't have any issues I'll leave review at 4 stars but it also fails I will update review. I took one star away for the ridiculous instructions. Obviously they are a literal translation from Chinese and make no sense at all most of the time. Just remember what you paid for it and keep your expectations at that level. But it does function and is accurate and again for the price it is unbeatable.
